just called winger to see what they used, never heard of it, was something like multi track?? googled it but nothing. He said i can get it there for $18 a litre seems pretty good. And it must be the GL5 bla bla.

It's a Castrol product, 80w90 I beleive. Saw it in Supercheap auto today when I was looking for syntrak and failing. It says "yay subarus!!!111oen" on the front pretty much. $47.50 or some such for what I beleive was 4L, so winger is reaming your anus there.

why the fudge doesn't someone import Subaru Extra-S into the country that every man and his dog is boasting about on the big american forums.

yeah $50 is what i was expecting to pay. Sounds better.

Do a google search in NZ for castrol syntrax

Sorry its syntrax not syntraK

Try thats. Its good stuff. Im about to change mine again. Its more expensive than the norm but its designed for the car.

There is another product designed specifically for Subarus, but its only available in Japan, cant remember the name but it has the Subaru stars on the front.

This is the stuff i was thinking of.

EXPENSIVVVVVVE https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=33_92&products_id=1073

yeah yeah thats the stuff i been talking about!! I've rung around, no one has it. Pretty annoying that it only comes in those huge buckets. Some sites do it by the quart http://www.fredbeansparts.com/servlet/the-1206/Subaru-75w90-%22Extra-S%22/Detail

but i tried a few, most will only ship in the US.

MULTITRAX!!!! thats wat the fella from winger must of said! shweeeeeeeet. you are the man.

the question now is, is it cheaper buying it off the shelf or through winger, who obviously must bulk buy. $18.35 a litre from Wings. Hmmm

What do u put in rear diff then?

I told you like 4 posts ago that it's cheaper at supercheap jeez ;D.

They probably do bulk buy...and then add a million markup. CAPITALISM AT IT'S FINEST

it does not, it is your more general items lol.

But true, im sure liquids have to be the biggest mark ups in the world. e.g that 4L of motul 300 i went to buy. $400. They would pump that crap out in the factory for nothing a litre. Now that is some serious mark up-age

edit: just got the fluids. yay. Btw Are there any other ways (for free) than havin to buy that lil pump to get the diff fluid in?

Went to supercheap, bought 4l of Vr1 brand for $36.. that fit my criteria well, coz its CHHEEEP! I like the idea of 'an oil's and oil' too, they all do the same thing at the end of the day.. And i reckon its better to do the job frequently with a cheaper oil, than stretch out oil changes longer or not bothering at all because the oil you buy is 100+ a bottle.

To be fair i used to think gear oil was gear oil. I stuck the cheap supercheap auto oil in my 'new' box and 4th and 5th synchros were crap, it also whined/whirred a bit.

Now i've put good grade stuff in (mineral not synthetic tho) it shifts a LOT better. And after a few hundred k's to polish off the synchros - everythings feeling a lot nicer.

Anythings better than no oil tho - ask anyone who heard my last gearbox :P

well to be honest id never stick 200 dollar oil in regardless of my position unless it was a race car.. i think thats nuts myself. i,ll see what the oil i got does. Im doing better by bothering to change it at all than 90% of motorists who don't i reckon.. I think my transmission sticks more due to stuffed synchros so oil can only do so much.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
