where to find fully synthetic 15w50

where can I find some ? been to repco and supercheap, both dont have 15w50, nor 10w50 fully synthetic,

got some 10w60 castrol edge in the end, but just concerned it may be too thick ? anybody know where

I can get some 15w50 or 10w50 ? thanks

i started using Pennzoil Platinum synthetic 5w-40.

have always used pennzoil, i really like the stuff

are they fully synthetic or semi synthetic ? was really after fully synthetic,

was wanting a slightly thicker oil thats all, as it will be seeing the track once every 6 months,

and I thought stepping up to a 50 weight was a smart thing to do, but it seems impossible to find a fully synthetic 50 weight. I did see penrite 10w50 semi synthetic on the shelf tho

Pennzoil Platinum its a fully synthetic. the one i got was, in a silver bottle.

definately after 50 weight, I saw some 40 weights at repco and supercheap, but thought it might be a bit thin to run on the track, anybody run 40 weights on the track at all ?

If you're going to do track work stick with the Castrol Edge 10w60.

It was designed for high stress work.

Just tip the whole 5L pack in.

Some of those other brands are only 4L so you'll be up for the price of two packs.

I run 10w-60 in mine. Bloody expensive, gotta change every 5000k's without question, but it's good oil. It's only 60 weight when it's hot remember, so it stays nice and thick when you start raping it.

I changed from modern engine recently to edge 0-30. Will step up to 10-60 once its run its course. The 0-30 is quite good ive found for the change over anyway. Much less noise before load is applied.

Usually ~$90+gst

Cf. Edge 5w30 $65+gst

And 10w60 hardly ever gets discounted.

It's bloody expensive at mates rates too. Especially when you change it every 2-3 months (But no, not over $80/bottle). I do allot of driving it would seem.

Yikes. I take it that it's pretty much worth it however if you're going to be doing track work? Is that price for 5L or 4?

You can get Motul 300v Competition 15w-50 Full synthetic. Its the only oil I have ever used in my race car.

Open your wallet though..... its expensive (more so when your car takes just over 7 litres of oil :'()

If you have a local Mag & Turbo they sell the Motul range... BNT may also be able to get it.
