  3. I notice you lose the crash bar for the fmic. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  4. I make 300wkw on decapped pink injectors (~850cc) with e40. If my mix goes above e40 the ecu reduces power. A Flex fuel sensor is about $100-150 if you buy the unbranded Continental sensor (GM). Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  5. http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinugawaturbohyundaigenesistd05h16g300ps-3-1-1-3-1-1.aspx http://shopping.kinugawaturbo.com/kinugawagtxballbearingturbogt2971rsubarustitwinentryreplacevf36vf37.aspx I looked at the td06sl2 options for my car when I was doing it, tried to get the vf37 housing machined for the td06sl2 but there wasn't enough material in the housing (I was told). I thought I'd seen a 3071 or 3076 TS variant from kinugawa for the sti TS flange... Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk Edit: 25g sounds big for the td06sl2!
  6. A lightly modified sti can make 220kW at the wheels including the extra drive train losses, 250 wkW with a garret doesn't sound like much (depending on the garret). That curve looks like it holds power better up top than our ej20's from factory.
  7. I agree with keeping the list longer, helps people build up a better idea of what mods get you where. Model: 2002 BE5D Legacy Displacement: 2l Mods: ej20 cdb, v7 wrx big port heads with v7 sti cams, wossner 92mm pistons, v7 sti rods, HX35 holset with 56mm inducer, 86 exducer billet compressor 14cm turbine housing. high compression ratio (8.8-9.?), flex fuel tuned to E40, decapped pink injectors, walbro fuel pump, link g4+, FMIC. Fuel: BP98 (242kW) / E40 (305 kW) Tuner/dyno: SAS/ @gotasuby Dynapack
  8. What heads are you running? some avcs heads could be fun.
  9. Flex fuel was the best decision I made, hands down. Just buy the generic Continental sensor and wire it up. If I wasn't so pig headed and knew what I knew now I would have flex fueled a vf37 and got similar power and torque to what I have with a Holset for $3k cheaper ( @gotasuby limited the tune due to my shortblock strength as I'm running factory head studs and rods, and I not saying that in a bad way).
  10. Or ethanol! (gave me a couple of hundred rpms difference)
  11. As per above, fit a flex fuel and instantly gain 40-60kW. Not worth half doing the turbo sorry. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  12. Is there any difference between the 5 spd and 6 spd pitch stops? (I have a clunking sound during engine braking which has occurred since my 6 spd trans swap.) Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  13. Pretty sure the smallest hx35 twin scroll housing is 12cm, they make an hy35 single scroll housing which is 9cm.
  14. In my car I have a pressure sensor in place of the factory pressure switch connected to the link. It is running limits on minimum oil pressures to protect the engine (Thanks @gotasuby!). At the track day my oil pressure limits kicked in doing what they were supposed too, but I was wondering how many others log oil pressure at track days and found something out of line? Mine was hitting 38 psi @ 3400rpm and 48 psi @ 6000rpm, I think factory minimums are 43psi @ 5000rpm. Water temp didn't go above 95C and I was running Castrol Edge 5w-40SN. (side note, I'm going to try some ACEA A3/B4 spec oil next oil change, and maybe some ACEA E7-9 diesel oil after that. A3/B4 apparently has a better shear spec, and the diesel stuff forgos the fuel efficiency additives for better shear/durability while meeting the A3/B4 specs, this is probably splitting hairs but still interesting)
  15. Sorry, I didn't read your first post properly. I have used the ultra grey as gasket sealant on my sumps when installing them, not sure how it might work without clamping pressure (not quite sure how you intend to use it). It was quite regularly recommended (the grey one) on NAISOC so just took the advice from there, I haven't had an issue with it.
  16. +1 for Permatex Ultra Grey. Used it a couple of times now. Just don't be to stingy with it, I got caught once. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  17. Stick with the factory airbox and just get a replacement filter. You can get people to look at the TCU settings, I've heard this can make the car feel a bit better between shifts (in the auto). Not sure if Rapid do this however.
  18. I'm used to doing most jobs on my car twice. I now budget for it.
  19. If I could afford that shortblock the rest would be already sorted! Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

  21. I made an intercooler/radiator sprayer out of garden fittings and used the rear windscreen sprayer pump, we'll see how much it helps (it cost me nothing but the scrap pieces in my garage of vac line and an old irrigation system). I also wired in the factory OBD2 port to the Link canbus output, borrowed an elm327 bluetooth device and I now have a tablet dashboard working. All I need to do is mount the tablet.
  22. Without any factual information to back it up, I do agree with this. I'll let you know when mine gives up on e30. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  23. Who is your tuner? Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
  24. The other week I saw an SAS dyno plot for a vf36/tmic on ethanol (pretty sure it had a built bottom end and v7 heads) that made 275 wkw, and had the most vertical torque wall I've seen (it made about 500nm). Don't know what numbers you are chasing but that set-up would have the most kW/$ spent I've seen. The point I'm making is that the vf34 and VF36 share the same chra and ethanol is awesome.
