Lame
Join the afm straight to the throttle with what ever hose fits and start it up.
Is it possible to put the filter u cleaned in backwards and its blocked the flow ?
So how many km have u cooked 3? Turbos in ?
Do the numbers point towards something in thr car killing them or just unlucky and received pre worn out turbos
Plain bearing turbos like about 3 l a minute . Bb turbos like about a litre a minute .
Have to be aware of where the restrictors are when swapping a turbo of different type . A bb will likely blow oil into the exhaust if fed 3 l a minute . In modern days the restrictor is built into the oil outlet .
Would ten seconds of cranking get the oil pressure light to go off ? Might not have pressure by then anyway if its jus been sitting . The turbo oil feed pretty much is the furtherest outlet from the oil pump
Maybe have the engine idling and crack the oil feed bolt loose and see if anything leaks out
i wouldnt . also means running a new high pressure line all the way back there . and the vac line will prolly have horrible response time . as will the actual pressure at the injectors as the volume of fuel between the injectors and the reg has gone from 1 foot to 20 .
might aswell convert it to a returnless system like a lot of modern cars
or get 2 of the same rail and have a reg on each rail like some people do for a simple parallel setup
putting the reg at the back of the car is at the bottom of the list of solutions as far as id say
can you not just mount it down below where the ac lines go through the fire wall etc ?
Yea cherrs for that I found it eventually . After reafing what koom said then realising I should be putting a newer ecu not an older one in it . And that 3 plugs of 4 will go into a 3 plug ecu ill get some yellows n get re pinning . Whule im asking questions . Does an a7 ecu run a orange afm ? And have any other reason why it wouldnt work ?
the whole thing was a steal and i knew engine was toast . have previously driven this car. its in good knick and has 6 months reg . is manual . lot better condition than mine . has sunroofs .
cost less than a days wages haha
also just bought a running long block for $130 .
that picture was drivers side . the left side is worse lol . all 4 "holes" are near exhaust valve . there is a piece missing big enough to stick the end of my fat thumb in lol
can anyone tell me if u can single turb the 4 plug legacys with the other 4 plug ecus ? eg a bc5 or early gc8 one ?
interesting .
have you ever read this marky ? using a pressure regulator to controll boost
quite a solid idea . and this was published in 2000 apparently

another thing that has crossed my mind is to have a pull knob choke cable thing hooked to a spring that pulls on the waste gate actuator in the same way a external spring hooks on a wastegate . except its cabin adjustable . and has all the simpleness and stableness of running wastegate pressure alone .
im allowd to be a hori coz i have an original apexi avcr . pretty much the best boost controller ever . yes a eboost has more tunability but why wants to fk round with all that shiz ans gears and $900
oviginal avcr . up = up . down = down . propper closed loop as it should be . no guessing numbers and telling it the duty cycle . if you have to tell your boost controller what duty cycle to run then you are a schmuck and you have an "electronic" boost tap
so ripped a head off . heads look ok . gaskets look ok . block not so much
wtf do you even call that ? peripheral ported? wtf happened . gasket partial leakage then erroded the block ? the head stud in that location was loose
things i know about this motor . the cooling system was jeopardized . was driven untill it wouldnt drive anymore . then i acquired it
we towed it across and it still pulled a reasonable amount of vacuum to make the brakes work etc .
bottom end sounds ok .
pulled motor out and have found these
all 4 coils look like this . two coils are black resin filler . 2 are clear resin. still had rubber boots on them obviously
the knock sensor looks melted ? any other word for it ?
did the engine really run till it was hot enough to melt coils and stuff ?
the bottom of it feeds to the pump . kinda didnt need that much thinkin about did it ?
and the same size lines as the pump inlet and rack/cooler return ? prolly not a bad starting place
some places price them on weight or size . other just a flat rate . there is big business in recycling them . they have platinum in them . its pretty hard to extract on a small scale at home though
http://www.metalcorp.co.nz/pricelist.php check under "other"
I cut along the edge of each end ans along one side . Fold it open and jus pick the pieces out . Weld it back up . Take the pieces to the scrappy . Get a minimum 20 dollars . And dont have to smash up and clean up and breathe that crap in .
that turbo is for a pos diesel .
you seriously think you are building a 300 kw car and budgeting under 1k for turbo ?
whats next some decapped injectors and a chip off trade me ?
can you hear a miss suggesting sparkplugs etc ?
have also seen a car hole the diaphrams in both bovs and that caused all sorts of ****tardery .
cat converter collapsing ?
so what ? they are still making it
you talk like its hard to come by or something .
do you go to the beach in summer and stand at the waters edge like " whats the point in swimming ill jus be hot again later ?
is that 4 minutes on boost or 4 minutes of driving ?
