  1. Don't know whats worse. The hook or the v sticker haha
  2. You should be able to hook up almost any reversing camera's wiring to the wiring of the new unit. If you're not doing it yourself you'd be better to go to a place and getting their opinions since they'd be doing it. Not everyone does things exactly the same so let them tell you how they would do it. Hyper and rapid each have good names, a mates commadore had everyhing removed and a complete high end system put in at rapid radio so can vouch for their quality work.
  3. Are you competent at installing headunits? Can save a truckload sometimes just getting one online and doing it yourself with adaptors. Could already have the adaptors there since its got the panasonic in there already, and the compatible stereo surround i'm assuming?
  4. Just replace it. $1000 stock unit is in no way comparable to even a $600 aftermarket one if installed correctly. Just go for a kenwood double din unit and hook up the rear view camera and be happy. Or go for the new alpine apple airplay one, its internally inferior to many but you wouldn't notice that with stock speakers. Has pretty sweet features for linking to iphones, music, messages, maps and all that. Edit: now googled that unit and realise its not stock
  5. If upgrading to something better is of no interest to you then a band expander really is your best option. Find an installer and try avoid the really cheap crap looking ones. Or try around trademe for a 2nd hand nz new unit the same as yours, sure there will be some out there as people go for aftermarket ones.
  6. Na just got it from one being wrecked. Dyeing handles and bits seems to be hard to get consistant colouring so thought stuff it i'll get one where all the small plastic bits are blacked out from stock. Gonna be wrapping the front and centre pillars with alcantara/ultrasuede though, and using my stock pillars since the donor ones didn't have airbag holes.
  7. Nice, rookie. Have always had a soft spot for those grilles when blacked out.
  8. Our highest is 98 so its not far off that. Becomes more of an issue when non premium 88ish fuel is used from what i've read in the past the difference is 4-6 so saying 97.1 for your 91 may be a bit ambitious. Of course some people drive for years on crap fuel and never notice, if you plan on driving it hard then why risk a rebiuld for the couple of bucks a tank more. Outside air temps makes all the difference too. How far north in canada are you? Just remember that the engine having to adjust for lower rated fuels means it'll be adjusting timing and fueling so you'll be getting less performance from the engine if it is within its adjustment range.
  9. Na they didn't use the 208. Think it'd be the 255 for their gt's and a more basic one for their non turbo 2.0L's. Partsouq is a bloody good site and will probably have any parts you're after at prices way below dealerships. In those, turbo's are the weakest point. Might i suggest looking at a 2001, facelift model instead. then you can atleast get it tuned by any standard tuner. That way you won't have issues with detonation, which these cars love to do when run on fuel less than japans 100octane. And you could then get an exhaust without overboosting and killing the tiny turbo's
  10. Ah sweet. Maybe mine is alright then. Could take more than 10 mins some days, isn't that to long? Tuner thought is was faulty too. Would have thought they needed to read accurately at idle to get afr right since its closed loop.
  11. Just did some logging of mine whilst idling. Logger shows it stuck at 14.7afr and 255 ohm before its warmed up, not sure if thats a real reading for resistance or just the limit for the reading. And once its started working, 2-5 mins after the cold light goes out, it stays at 14.7 and gives 33 ohm. Resistance drops as afr drops.
  12. Don't think it'll be pre heater. Mine doesn't show up at all until warmed up. Always assumed the pre heater was gone in mine as i can see it read nothing for ages when logging it and finally comes right after the exhaust has got it up to temp and then reads perfectly, never any codes. Unless mine is something completely different. Get romraider running and it should be able to confirm. Ross is the one in that pic used for afr or cat stuff? Does yours have the secondary air pump thing? Or is there still a cat in the uppipe? Can't remember what year they came in.
  13. Did you have the negative on the battery removed whilst doing all this? Its a long shot but check the fuses in the engine bay box aswell. Managed to blow one of mine once and it killed all the power to the stereo. Was in my old legacy though so not sure if its the same setup with the new ones.
  14. Ignore the b4 and gt names. Means nothing other than the b4 is a sedan and gt is a wagon. Year differences makes a difference though. Are they still in the car or whats the situation? Easier to tell based on the revision number.
  15. Are you relativey alright with a set of tools? If you're replacing, why not go for uprated ones, nolathane may do them but haven't looked Considering going with this set for my next lot of upgrades http://www.rallysportdirect.com/COBB-Tuning-224X01P-BK-Stage-1-Drivetrain-Package-w-Black-Black-Knob
  16. When i had mine done the installer said these cars were an absolute pig to install into. Mine has a standard key but can only disarm/mobilise when all the doors are shut and the key not in the ignition, so you gotta hop in and start within that 45 seconds or wait for the travelling circus to finally sort their **** out get in and close all the doors. Bloody irritating but nowhere near as annoying as what yours is doing.
  17. Not the end of the world for non turbo's. Will pull some timing so will feel more sluggish than if running high octane 98 but no where near as likely to get detonation the way turbo ones do.
  18. Subaru branded one was 23 when i did it about 6 months ago
  19. And buy/make something to undo them. On 4th gens they're pretty well jammed in with the exhaust (can't remember 3rds) so the old bike inner tube trick doesn't really work the same as on inline 4s
  20. not alot really, not alot for clubsub meetups atleast. Was following scooby-wrx on the motorway the other day, does that count? haha
