Pioneer Carrozzeria Sat Nav/DVD - Needs software (?)

DMN

Recommended Posts

Had an integrated sat nav/dvd system sitting in my subie without getting any use since I got the car.

The only time I tried to pop a DVD in there, and open up the screen, it started spitting Japanese profanities at me. That's what I though at first anyway.

After googlerizing and searching different forums, I learned that the system needs to be initialized using a special DVD..which I don't have ofcourse, and is not one of those things you can download either..

Wondering if anyone has same sort of system and the magic initializing DVD? Or maybe there's some other way to get it working (or maybe not?). Any advice/info is much appreciated.

The unit is a Pioneer Carrozzeria AVIC-DR2500

I'll give you a couple of pointers since no one else has chimed in. Google should be able to tell you the model number of the start-up disc you require. You will also find it on the Pioneer Japan website, the text will be in Japanese but you will be able to make out the model codes, etc.

Once you know what type of start-up disc you require you can start your search to find one. They're are a few on Ebay Japan and they do come up from time to time on TradeMe. Your best bet would to browse through the stereo section of TradeMe and look for people who are selling the Japanese dvd systems out of their cars, some times they have the start-up dvd as well.

I've got one of the DVD's here. Unfortunately it's still in the unit that I pulled out last week. I'll try and hook it up and get the disc out and see if it can be copied. I think others have tried this though with no success, although I doubt it's impossible.

Yeah, I've tried google a few times, didn't get too far. Have come across numerous posts of the same nature on other forums, but no resolutions. I'll give the Japanese Pioneer website a go. Last time didn't get further then finding a Japanese manual for my system, which doesn't help much, since I don't read Japanese..

If anyone's got the disc which they can chuck my way, let me know. Will be happy to pay..a reasonable amount.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
