We do what we love as well as ask 'do you want to biggie-size that?' because unless you've 'been noticed' or 'made it'....art makes no real money.

It's common knowledge in the art community that underselling your work devalues it, and you will have a hell of a battle ever making headway in the future with devalued work. People think they can keep getting a cheapie out of you, and Joe Public will generally refuse to purchase your work for it true value.

This applies to all creative artforms.

This is also the reason I would only charge $20/hr to club members and friends...and even then that's pretty rude. The true rate is between $50/hr and $100/hr for proper work.

For art I charge minimum of hundreds for pieces - they take a lot of time and concentration, and no two are the same (obviously).

You can get 'cheaper' art via the deviants over at deviantART, but there is no guarantee of quality, follow-up work, running to a deadline (which is the other issue with artists) and that what you are getting is actually original.

Most of us would never work for a pittance. If you asked me to paint a portrait of your car for $50, I'd tell you to f**k off and think about what you did until you come back with quadruple that, given it takes the better half of a week to do properly

Think of it as... you're Joe Bloggs and you need to have your car serviced on the double and want to use a club member. Do you pay boostin to do it, or give a few beers to that OTHER guy (you know who I mean)?

Art is only an escape for the logically impaired. Why do you think they make apple computers look so pretty and then aim them at the demographic which mainly consists of retards and bottom feeders.

Much like females and jewellery, jewellery serves no purpose except only for aesthetic value. Biggest waste of money in the entire farking world.

I have nothing against graphic designers at them moment though
