Standard Impreza bonnet on GC8 WRX

I'm having alot of trouble trying to track down a V3 STI bonnet (didn't think it would be this hard!)

If I was to put a FMIC on my car, would a standard Impreza bonnet (non-turbo) fit without any issues?

I hvae an STI bonnet.. (which are the same as WRX bonnets).

I've considered doing this. Single intake over the airbox and space the hinges to let the hot air flow out. But then I realised......Its not a drift car.

you will still need the V3 bonnet? i'm sure the lights and grill on a V3 wont match a V2 (WRX/non turbo) bonnet very well

Well, that works out as my V3 STI has a V2 bonnet, lights and bumper. (the V3 STI stuff was stolen)

I'll be sending my car to be panel'd and painted soon and I'm just trying to decide on how I want to go. The plan is to put a FMIC on and a standard non-turbo bonnet + delete the spoiler for a more sleek overall look.

I have this exact setup, and its fine,mine looks very sleeper with a blacked out intercooler.

Your undressing your car, nemesis = opposite

oh and re: bonnet spacers

 

So you wouldn’t site a bonnet outlet vent close to the windscreen – in fact that’s usually where the cabin ventilation inlet ducts are... they’re taking advantage of that high pressure! Looking at just the exterior pressures, what we want at the vent location is the very lowest external pressure.

also going by that page my bonnet modification is also detrimental... but looks cool too! like bonnet spacers....
