What fixes this??

Recommended Posts

okay so just wondering what would fix this..

In neutral and in gear my gear stick is quite um play full lol

I can move it side to side in gear and very very easily side to side in neutral. Is this some kind of rubber that needs replacing??

Sorry not really to schooled up on gearboxes at ALL

i have heard its reasonably simple, think you just have to lower the gbox a little bit.

hopefully someone can confirm that it is the bushes before listening to me, just for safety sakes lol

jesus a hundred? measure the bushes you need and make them out of nylon stock. or brass if your keen. 30 bux max!

As I found out there's easily replaceble nylon bushings or a sealed dog bone fist looking thing that sits on the end of the shifter rod that goes into the gear box, mine had worn that part out and was $150 for a genuine one which causes the side to side slop, might be different on the WRX's though.

it is. ive replaced so many linkages. even old ladys na legacy ones and they love it when you tighten their sloppy linkages.

well i didnt have to play with my linkages but i absolutely loved playing with the customers bush. some of the bush was even stuck in my teeth after turning the brass down.

Sounds like the bushes, we had the exact same thing in ours. When it was in gear we could literally move it a good 3-4 inches sideways. Thought it was the spring, but no it was the bushes. We couldn't get the pin out to do it, but apparently if that goes smoothly it is an easy fix. Parts from Subaru cost us $40 - that was for all 4 bushes.

is the linkage the main cost or something?

Must be, we didn't have to do the linkage.... just the 4 bushes - and its awesome now. This was only done about 3 weeks ago. And yes we did the spring too - under $5 for that though

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
