hey I was just having a discussion with the wife last night about suspension.

we took the car for a nice drive before we bought it and it has the stock supsension, we are going to want to tigthen that up a bit I think, will keep the bilsteins (because they are good struts and rebuildable) but what have people here put on thier B4's for springs, I have a variety on the MR2's from Kings on the wifes car with Bilsteins, to KYB and H&R on mine, Tein on the race car....

just curious what people have done and how they liked or even better disliked

Had H&R springs on my Wagon. They seemed nice at first but they really do suck. Either do it properly and throw some coilovers at it or dont bother at all. The lowering springs did reduce body roll, but they didnt really help handling.

Now running a set of Tein coilovers and they are a massive improvement.

Could just leave the springs/ struts and get some stiffer swaybars.

^^^ What he said. Putting a larger rear antiroll bar on will iron out a little of the understeer and make the car a lot more controllable.

Yeah the springs didnt match the damping rate of the shock very well...so things got a bit bouncy. Fit a stiffer rear bar, front strut brace, quick steering rack and get the alignment dialed in right and these cars are a heap of fun.

Lowering springs just tend to bugger up the suspension geometry from what ive read. I actually have my adjustable struts set higher in the rear than my lowering springs were.

Where would one find a quick rack for the Legacy? Its one of the few things I'd quite like to change about my GTB (especially when I've been driving the MX5 a lot!).

Pilfer one from an STI and modify the steering universal joint to fit it. Pretty easy to do - i still havnt gotten round to it tho

Ah good to know, didn't realise they were that similar. Have thought about the whiteline anti-lift kit too for the extra castor it gives.

Chuck an extra 500ml of oil in it before you hit the track too. Subaru's can generate some pretty good lateral g's, and the oil slops away from the pickup, usually resulting in blown big end bearings.

Or do it properly and fit a decent baffled sump.

But yeah, point the fronts where you wanna go and keep the boot up it. Enjoy.

Earlier question on single conversions. V5/6 STi stuff is bolt on, but you gotta use a WRX ecu, can't use an STi ECU without changing the compression ratio of the engine.

As for the handling. I'll put it this way, the BE/BH's are a DAMN fine package from factory, you'll love the factory alloy arms and multi link rear suspension. I chucked some BH alloy arms on my BG, and i fricken love em.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
