DCCD center diff swap

Think my center diff could be stuffed or something again thinking about a dccd swap.

Whats the best way of doing it?

My link can be the dccd ecu? then need roller & some sort of display?

Also what would happen if it wasn't wired up?

usually if there is something wrong the dccd light will flash non stop, check the relay then the ecu

if its not connected it will just be open think its 65/35

Plox you cud always do what i did to my BH for the cheap option (i think you know what i am talking about)

Mine is going sweet, did a trip to Ch-ch and back with no issues

yea i did think of that haha, depending on the price was going to do an "upgrade" at the same time lol

Not 100% what the issue is yet, its not binding up just really spins the fronts up a lot more

to run dccd you can use the dial and the ecu, find the loom plugs and a wiring diagram and your away.

it doesnt need the display to work, but you could easily rig it to 6 leds in a seperate display if you wanted to.

oh, and you need the center diff obviously.

You could run it through the link bro so if thats the way you just need a roller and the dccd centre diff im guessing.

Iv talked to dave about it before ask him.

you cant run the dccd directly from the Link ecu, it doesnt supply enough current.

I have designed and built a custom unit that can let you use the Link to custom map the diff lockup like a dccd auto mode. Big improvement in handling

You dont have to worry about abs. They can work together fine

i have abs in mine.. it does complain from time to time.

Mainly when locked diff and launched on gravel.. thus far the only issue ;D

abs and dccd have been known to have issues under heavy braking on GC8s

your guess would be as good as mine, ive tested loss of traction under acceleration and engaging the abs on braking on sealed and gravel surfaces and it came up flashing the ABS under the conditions mentioned. my abs light popped up and the abs stopped working for about 10 mins at the time.

The worst of the symptoms are the abs computer "thinks" you have locked up the fronts and decides to not allow you to brake anymore.

Appears to be an issue with abit of slip allowing the front and rears to be rotating at diferent speeds.

I know about abs and dccd.. if you just install dccd in a non-dccd car with abs there will be issues. You have to install a smart dccd unit that will work harmoniously. Basically the abs doesnt like it when it cant brake the wheels how it wants to as the dccd keeps driving them forward. Edit:yeah - what Qwerty just said.

personally i think you can brake harder using the dccd lock than abs will ever give you.
