turbo

PC Link is much easier to use as long as its the RSroadq or WRXroadq chip. (Some of the very early ones may still need the hand controller).

Tuning (or doing anything) with the hand controller is more annoying than syphillis.

The problem stemmed from not using the hand controller (or even the laptop ;) )

But we digress, the hand controllers make you feel like you're tuning on a Sega Master System I.

if i get a td05 will it perform the same as it would in an evo, when i drive my sisters evo the turbo seems to kick in straight away, ultimately thats what im after and trying to achieve.

no buy a evo there low end response is awesome, you may want to get something smaller thn a td05/vf22 there the laggiest subaru turbos (my vf22 had heaps of top end,i dont think my td05 im running now even comes close but still gets to the limiter pretty quick from a 100kph),from what ive heard through the grapevine vf34/30 are the best single scroll factory turbo but havent had either so cant confirm

is the 90 dergee intake bend thing part of the plastic bit or is it on the turbo if i got a turbo with a normal intake would it still fit the intake? or would it be better to get a possum link first and do away with the afm and jus get a pipe with a port for the breather then upgrade the turbo? if i got a possumlink i wouldnt get it tuned till i have upgraded the turbo anyways.

its part of the turbo all i had on my vf22 (straight intake)was a 90deg silicone joiner

dude depending on the amount u wana spend..

a cheap mod wud be to do the down pipe as mentioned before - makes a lot of difference.

if u still want more then get that td05 and tnhat should get u more kick.

that should keep u happy mostly..

anyway, if u think u need even more power then look into new ecu like that Link etc.

i wud personally say do the td05 and the down pipe at the same time and u will be very happy with the power.

we recently did a similar change on a rex and the owner is very happy with the setup and the power etc is good all around

the early intakes are extremely restrictive. i couldn't get any more than 200kw using one, it simply would not flow enough air for the vf30 to hit high enough boost. if you're wanting an actual decent upgrade and thinking about downpipes, turbos and computers, spend the extra $200 or so on top of a std downpipe and pickup a second hand twisted setup and $100 and a set of yellow injectors and then any subaru turbo other than td04. the difference will be huge.

my ver5 is nz new so came with the yellows and 90mm afm so didn't have to upgrade anything when i switched over to my vf22 from the standard td04h all i had to do was install a aftermarket boost controller ended up get a HKS evc 4 running 15psi.

Admittedly it doesn't come on boost till 3100rpm but i've grown to love it not having the turbo just there saves so much on gas and its not hard to change down a gear for the instant pushed back in your seat feeling that the td04h never had.

yeah ideally i would love a twisted setup, already have yellows in atm got a siamese downpipe on the way, had the ecu chipped not long ago and dont have plans to change the turbo untill early next year begining of feb,i cant find a 2nd hand twisted setup anywhere rare as hens teeth i supose, i still run a green stickered afm too dunno if its recallibrated or anything tho, went to hawkesbay and back weekend jus gone and it was 74bux to fill it up here(auckland) and i put another 60 in at taupo, when i got to wairoa it was on quarter of a tank dunno seems to be a thirsty s.o.b 4 sum reason haha ;D

your afm and computer are mismatched to the injectors. they both think you have 380cc instead of the 440cc you're using.

i asked the guy who chiped my ecu if it was setup to run yellow injectors and he said it was but im still worried about the afm being mismatched as you said mainly because of the amount of fuel its using or is that jus normal?? haha ???

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
