i was running upped fuel pressure 3.5bar on 555cc and maxed them out running 20psi

decap them.

Decap = cheapest (do it at home!), but may not be precisely flow matched. Mine put out over 900cc.

Though you can get them measured to ensure they do flow match.

Measuring them lets you know the flow, so you can pick the four closest matching out of a large batch of them. If they're not well matched, you need to run your tune rich so that once of your cylinders doesn't lean out.

have you been on a dyno yet? i imagine the best performance modification you could do would be a professional tune.

Yeah I'll look at getting it dyno tuned after the walbro/turbo/possibly decap shindig...

Has anyone had any experience with "Race Evolution" before? Are they another "Driven Performance"? They have a TD06 that I'm considering.

what exactly are you trying to get out of your car?

are you trying to increase actual performance that you can use and feel on the road?

are you trying to get a quick quarter mile time or dyno figure for bragging rights?

are you just wanting to tell people you've got a "big" turbo on your car?

by the turbos you keep looking at (and probably therefore budget) my guess is the last option

If you're around this weekend, I can show you what a TD05-18G feels like. A TD06 is probably too big for your application. You don't want lots of top end that takes a long time to spool. You want a fast spooling turbo with a big fat torque band so you have power all over the rev range.

Simon, I agree with you regarding the differences in characteristics of the turbos and wanting a TD05 but its been a mission trying to find one of quality. Now have a few people looking for me

get simon to drive both cars in the same (hard) way so u can get a feel of both vf30 vs td05-18g from the passengers seat..

i find that way i get a better comparison ecpecially if trying to get a feel of the "pull" of a car.

from the drivers seat its more on how the car drives (its own character if u may)...

from the passengers seat u get a more accurate butt dyno of the mid range ;D

doing both cars in the same way will give u a good judgement of what the difference is etc and u may than be able to make a better choice if u wana go td05-18 or 20 or the big td06

its not a cheap thing to buy so best u get the leg work (butt work in this case) done in a semi scientific manner hahaha
