What oil do you guys use for your TT?

Hello all,

I had a good search for oils and couldnt really find much helpful.

I want to do my own oil changes, and want to use a good quality oil. What does everyone use and recommend? Type? Viscosity?

tell ya what - nothign special, magnatec? - or what ever generic oil the mechanics use

Mobil fully synth. Change it every about 5000 though which is probably more important.

Magnatec 10w-40 here. Used it in both my TT's.

I usually go for a decent oil but didnt have the cash this month and have just moved to a new area and dont really know a good mechanic. So I took it to shop and they put 10W30 Magnatec in which I think isnt really good enough for summer temps with a twin turbo. ???

over thinking it - i say again 210,000 km's OEM Motor (never been out) with a handful of trips to both Taupo and Manfield racetracks keeping up and passing wrx's

no fancy oils needed - as above regular is good

even if i have bean known to go a few thousand over suggested service due km's...

The subaru dealership down here runs 10/30 magnatec in my tt legacy with no problems at all!

10w-40 Castrol Magnatec. Changed every 5,000ks along with a new genuine Subaru oil filter. Simple

5w/40 fully synthetic - currently valvoline in mine but not too fussy about brand. Castrol Edge 5w/30 gave me noticeably more turbo noise.

10w/40 is fine for BD/BG but newer cars prefer the thinner 5w.
