Thanks for all the reply's.

Car is almost bog standard, only mod is 3" cat back exhaust system.

At the moment it feels as if the car is only boosting about 7psi, I think the factory boost solenoid has given up. Ill need to get a boost gauge and check it properly.

check for any fault codes

then reset the ecu

run 98 obviously lol

maybe a service and upper engine cleaner

see if that get things going

does it report any fault codes?

Sometimes when the car is idling at the traffic lights it has come up with the engine check light(ECL), and the idle bounces up and down a little, as soon as you touch the gas the ECL turns off.

I plan to pull the idle control unit off and clean all the carbon out of it – I'm guessing this is what's causing the bouncy idle and ECL fault.

Haven't had any ECL light come on when boosting tho.

7psi is wastegate pressure, it should run 10psi standard, i have run 15psi on mine for 3 years and also up to 17psi at one stage, engine still going strong.

Hey Dacca when you say sti bolton's - what sti parts have you added? Does the sti intercooler do much more than the factory wrx intercooler? they look identical to me :/

Last night I pulled the AFM off and gave it a blast with CRC AFM cleaner. Then removed the idle control unit, gave that a blast with WD40, let it soak then gave it another blast to get the carbon out. So far car has been running great, stable idle and no ECL has come back since :D

Hoping the boost gauge arrives today, then ill install that and see what boost its running.

Thanks for all the info ;D

I believe the STi addons he did was Yellow Top injectors, Orange AFM, v3 STI ECU and a VF34 turbo and a V4 sti intercooler. Here's the link: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,13918.0.html

lol, ok so I got the boost gauge hooked up, but the line I plumed into goes from the manifold to the factory boost controller with the white air-filter thingy on it. I installed all new hose between those parts and now the car is free boosting, got up to 15psi then took my foot off the gas.

There must of been some restricter thing in that hose between the white air-filter thing and the manifold that Ive removed.

Going to naner the car for now and get a boost controller set it for 12psi, and leave it at that.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
