In fact, I remember going for a little "comparison session" in my car Vs my mates Evo IX and he just about cried when my "station wagon" turned out to be almost exactly the same speed as his car... Hell, it even handled almost as well and it was my stock suspension Vs his adjustable coilovers!

The only time I'm embarrassed to be driving a Subi is when I'm driving the crappy, thrashed, auto 250T Legacy that I have for work!

Well... I might be stretching the truth calling a 2004 STi Forester a "stock Subi".... heh.

Simple mods - raise the centre of gravity, more weight and less power

Compared them on a windy road and on the motorway., sat right on his bumper no matter what he tried to do. I know I know, shouldn't be driving like that on public road, but this was about 3 years ago when I first got my Forester, and for what it's worth, I dont drive like that on public roads these days.

Only difference was that he had one passenger and I had none, but seeing as my car weighs about 70kg more than an STi WRX I thought that was fair. My car at the time had no mods whatsoever, and his had Adjustable coilovers and an aftermarket cold-air intake.

I didn't say it "out-performed" the Evo9, but we both drive to about the same skill level, and the cars were pretty damned even. I think perhaps too many people underestimate the SG9 Forester STi's. They are, after all, a 2.5ltr Turbo 6-speed. I'm personally not really all that surprised that the Evo couldn't shake it.

Embarrassing to drive a Legacy when a certain Honda with alot of BuddyClub stickers on it, leaves you behind on a passing lane in the north island somewhere.

Only to meet said person at a CS pizza nite a few weeks later, and talk about times gone by...

Yeah was him. (going back a few years ago now thou) That honda had a fair bit of work done to it. Was pretty impressive hearing that engine scream off into the distance.

If i was driving my V9 it may have been a different story tehehe.....
