Surf Rims

If you plan on using the tyres for the hill you will better with an all purpose off road rather than a straight mud.

With either you will need chains if its too icy in any scenario but.....yeah.

Cant wait to see pics of it with 33s!

Yeah needs new tyres so going to get some all purpose sort of ones instead of straight mud.

Keen for 33's just doing a bit of research if to they fit sweet as etc..

Going to get some 4x4 rims such as desert rats or similar at same time, nice powder coated set on TM hence the offset ?? lol

pretty much any of the 15" 6 stud rims fit :) I run AT's all the time and then chain it if i need more grip :)

my Landcruiser runs 16" alloys and 235/75 16's Goodyear ATR's but I will run Cooper Discoverers AT at next time

You like those tyres??

Any recommendations on the tyres wanting something with some decent meat suitable for the odd off road excursion but will mostly be used for the road.

have no idea if they will fit with 33" tires on it

how do they compare to the normal size

and Yup I have got about 50,000 k's outta my goodyears and the old man gets about the same out of the coopers

i would not go to large a diametre as it affects your on road handling to much...

I have a set of goodyear wrangler 31x10.5's AT on my terrano that have been on there for over 70,000ks as my road tyres and they still have another WOF left in them hopefully, pity goodyear are not making them anymore, the new wrangler comes as a MT tyre only, in fact even if I saw a decent second hand set come up for sale I would pounce on them. On my weekend rims I have a set of Maxxis Buckshots in 32x11.5's they are not too bad a tyre for offroad and are not too pricy, dont know how well they would wear with a lot of road driving as I only put them on when going off road, allthough I did drive into chch the other night with them on because I was in a hurry and hadnt changed them, running about 15psi, it would be fair to say it was a bit of a handfull on the motorway haha

Yeah clint had buckshots on his weekend rims as well and we took them 4wding seemed to be decent.

Basically want a tyre thats not some shitty arse road tyre (those 4wd size tyres that look like a road tread/pattern) lol ..But will have some grunt behind them if needed. Dont want to spend 60000000 dollars a tyre either lol.

Have heard that the Mud tyres wear down really fast if used on the road so might stay away from that.

oh, and dont know much about the surfs and how much guard clearance they have, but with the 32x11.5's on my terrano and no lift kit, they hit the guards easily with a bit of suspension compression and have even managed to kinda have one grab the flare and rip it off and jam while turning with one side up in the guards haha

  • 3 weeks later...

haha, my softy terrano has done over 300kms and she still runs like the day I got her, and being 3l v6 petrol, she eats up all the diesels in the mud and on the highway ;D

But yes, my old man has an old landy that he uses on the farm and it just keeps on going and going, it even has a PTO and hydraulic fittings and pump so can tow around farm implements, run the wood splitter etc

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
