95 subaru wrx engine knocking noise

i was wondering if some one could help me, i was driving along the motor way and my car started surging i pulled over and it died, started it up again and a knocking noise came from the engine left if for a few days started it again knocking was still there then car died.

Please help

Interesting.. :-\ So the engine must die when the bearing fully sh!ts itself..

And to everyone thats reading this and had a BEB. Did your engine die/stall/seize before BEB knock?

This should figure out my mystery question lol. sorry guys im just REAL REAL bored!!!

i was just crusing along at 100km/h came to a 70k zone, slowed down to 70, cruised through the 70k zone, got back to a 100k zone and as I accelerated (nicely, just crusing) the engine zust went NUGGA NUGGA NUGGA NUGGA NUGGA! and it got real loud by the time I had slowed to a stop, managed to drive it a couple hundred metres back to a petrol station I had just past, it was still idling but sounded horrible, turned it off. the end

have just towed it back from where it has been parked up for a few weeks started it and it died started it again and it idles but still has the knocking. what would of caused the cutting out/surging before it started making the knocking noise

knock sensor telling ecu to change timing etc probably

1. rebuild, around 3k for a quick build using factory parts but all new bearings, seals, second hand crank etc etc

2. forged rebuild, the sky is the limit on pricing here

3. drop a second hand engine in, anywhere between $500-$2000 depending where you look and if you can do the work yourself

It all depends what you want to do with the car, if you want to maybe keep it and continue to use as a daily driver without modding it to much etc I would go with option 1, if you want to build it tough and do a few mods etc for decent power then go for option 2, and if you just want to get rid of it then go for option 3 chuck a second hand engine in and flick it off

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
