Pre 2003 subarus - did they ever come with steering remotes

I have a 2000 legacy blitzen

I was wondering if these models ever came with built in steering remotes for stereo.

I would so like to fit one in my car

I have a friend who had an 01' blitzen and it had the factory double din headunit (with blitzen printed on it) and he had like a wee remote thingy that stuck out off the side of the steering column like an extra indicator/window wiper stalk, dont know if it was factory though?

I had a quick look at the service manual for the BH/BE series and couldn't see any mention of it...

it was definately factory stereo, are they sony? maybe you can by the controller stalk thingy aftermarket?

I have noticed on imports (or maybe just dreaming) but it makes me think that in Japan they have this whole industry dedicated to making aftermarket parts look factory fitted...

I remember my old stereo that came fitted looked like a factory job (complete with Subaru badge) untill I ripped it out...

yea, we have an '01 blitzen sedan and it has a steering mounted control that sticks out a little below the windscreen stalk and as far as i can tell it's factory fitted as it's a sony labelled device and the factory fitted blitzen double din head unit is a blitzen labelled sony device.

hmmmm, where did you buy your blitzen from? and how long have you had it? mate sold his a couple months ago...

we've had ours for a little over 2 years now, bought it in dunedin from a dealer.
