you will only have issues if it has sharp points...and if its going to hurt somone if you hit them front on...well that was the case when i was issuing wof's...otherwise no problem

My mate has 3 gauges on the bonnet of his RX3. They've never given him any issues getting warrants or when the plod decides to have a closer inspection on the side of the road..

The real test will be when he goes to get his pink sticker off at VTNZ haha

Thrs no issues with them honestly its like having an emblim on the front of yr bonnet, as long as its not going to cut or maim anyone its all good

As soon as the cop got to the window, he said "I'm going to pink sticker this car for something"..

The rear was 3-4mm below where it should sit (according to the cert plate) and he deemed it 'too loud'.

IMO gauges on the bonnet of a subaru is a crime...as too if they were on the bonnet of any newish car...

but i think gauges on the bonnet of say a rx3 or some old muscle car looks pretty tough

such a controversial topic the whole cert thing aye... it doesnt need cert...it does need cert haha

the main reason things that actually do need cert pass wofs is because half the guys who do wofs (even at vtnz) dont know the rule book inside out and cant be bothered checking up on modifications (if they even notice them at all)

The risk of a component (Note 2) hooking a vehicle, or

hooking or grazing a person, has not been minimised,

eg a bonnet or bumper has been removed, exposing

sharp, moving or hot components.

2. An ornamental object or fitting (Note 1) protrudes in

such a way that it is likely to injure a person.

3. A protruding object or fitting that has a functional

purpose (Note 1) is not installed so that the risk of

causing injury to a person is minimised, eg the object or

fitting:

a) is of excessively heavy construction for the purpose

for which it has been fitted, or

b) has sharp corners, or

c) slopes forward, unless this is necessary to fit the

contours of the vehicle, or

d) has an unnecessarily wide gap between the object or

fitting and the front of the vehicle, or

e) exceeds the vehicle’s width by more than 100 mm

on either side, other than side mounted glass sheet

transport racks and collapsible side mirrors, or

f) is a glass sheet transport rack that is not fitted with a

front flaring to minimise the risk of injury to a person.

4. A protruding component, object or fitting is not securely

attached to the vehicle.

5. A protruding object or fitting adversely affects the

driver’s vision or control.

So print it out and take it to them, surely they can read.. Don't be too rash about it, otherwise they'll get their backs up and tell them you to fark off.

Make them know that you feel as if you have been unfairly and inconsistently penalised for something which is fine in terms of the law.

yep if sumone on here has failed a wof due to your round, soft, plastic guages being on your bonnet near your windscreen externally then say WTF,these guages wont maim or kill sumone! what right do you have?

I would've thought that you would've had the right to take the car back, along with evidence to support the fact that your vehicle has been inspected in an inconsistent manner, according to the NZTA safety requirements.

Surely even a testing station has a complaints resolution proceedure..

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
