Where to pass power wire for amplifer (legacy B4 2000)

Hi

I'm wiring a amp and was looking for a place to pass the power wire (4 gauge) from under the hood into the passenger cabin.

Most people drill a hole through the "firewall"but i don't really want to do that (might end up failing my WOF!)

Any suggestions as to where there might be a hole already drilled?

Yes look for the rubber grommets in your firewall..

From memory I used one on the passenger side near the strut to pass a 0Ga wire through with no issues. To make it easy I removed some trim from the dash (the glovebox) as I am not a midget and cant contort either...

there is an easy grommet in the BH/BE down near the pedal box

i put a wee slot in the rubber grommet where i want the cable to go and then use a wee bit of lube to help it thru

and round here its a BONNET not a hood hehe

next thing you'lll be installing the sub in the trunk

I normally use the rubber grommet that passes the two A/C hoses into the cabin - large enough for 0 or 2-GA easily! And multiple feeds too.

Since some remove their A/C system completely, that leaves even larger holes for bigger cables.

On some newer cars, I've found this to be blocked off by a small metal plate - but never on an Impreza chassis. Maybe on a late model Legacy?

BE/BH Models don't have this option. And probably not any of the later model Legacy's

thought so i could only ever find down near the pedal box, comes out behind clutch pedal.
