INSTALLING A WASTEGATE ON 91 RS LEGACY

WANT TO PUT WASTEGATE ON MY 91 RS LEGACY WANT TO KNOW WAT SIZE AND HOW TO INSTALL WITH SCREAMER WANT TO DO SOON SO ANY ADVICE WOULD B APPRECIATED

If you have to ask, It's already too late. shop around & get a workshop or someone to do it for you.

38mm is fine. & have it run as close to your turbo as possible without impeeding the flow.

Also make sure the screamer sticks out the bonnet, or get it installed near the scoop at least. These damn Subaru's are just so quiet with screamers so you need to make sure they can be heard!

LOL..

it doesnt need to be near the turbo..u can mount down bottom...best to pick up off all 4 cylinders tho rather than just 2

Really? But I was told by this guy I met that they really didn't make much noise unless you had the end of the screamer coming out near the top (i.e. the scoop) so that you could hear it gating hard ???

it doesnt NEED to be near the turbo.. but is best to be mounted where it picks up off all 4 cylinders...so if its down the bottom then u dont need a "screamer pipe" as such

What if you change the left side exhuast manifold to a TT one. Then mount the WG to the outlet which normally goes to the Primary Up-pipe.

most places that will install your wastegate on you factory exhaust mani will weld it jus before the up pip to the turbo,were all 4 meet up.many people have done it.and seems fine .if you get aftermarket headers/up pipe.usually it might hava a wastegate port thats on the up pipe.also there isnt a need to plumb it back enless you dont like the noise/and cops.

alot of people say you need to plumb it back or u lose boost and cant controll it.thats a false statment,millions and millions on race /street cars are running external wastegates wit no issues.
