Need help on my 2004 Legacy navigation system

Hi guys,

I have been doing some research, but im just too noob with these stuff, so couldnt get my problem solved.

My question is that I have a 2004 Legacy 3.0R station wagon, it has this japanese navigation system, is there a way to change the language to English? coz for now, its locked in japanese, can i cant even change the clock on it, the GPS auto sets the time in jap time zone.

learn japanese? but seriously i dont think that u can change it pretty sure that its been mentioned on here from time to time

no you cant flash them for nz roads or even get it in english... your stuck with it is the short answer.

I would suggest that if you dont mind spending some coin your best solution will be:

-find a off the shelf GPS unit that is the same size as the factory item.

-Get a qualified audio installer to hardwire the new unit and and mount it in the factory position.

You get the best of both worlds-factory look and feel and actual useability.

My sister has the same issue in her altezza but CBF doing anything about it.

or see if u can get the NAV setup out of one from the US/OZ/UK, may only be a wee bit better (and probably expensive) replace it with after market stuff

i thought that the issue was that the software is not able to be wiped.

Its not the hardware that is an issue as such. That part is fine.

Its just the inability to put new maps/software on the factory hardware?

At least thats my understanding.
