Best Oil to Run

In a 2.0l ej20t 1998 ??? Its running Castrol magnatec 10w40 at the moment or the trade equivalent which is 10w30 castrol magnatec.

Not sure what exactly you are asking, Both of those oils should be alright

magnetec is good ..

i have only ever run magnetec with no issues

magnatec is great, run it in both both cars, Dad has used on 3 legacy's now, no problems at all

Hi....if this is just a daily driver then both those oils are fine

ive run all kinds o diff oils, elf comp-sti,lucus,royal purple,magnatic etc... for sum reason my car likes that real old stuff castrol gtx.. seams to hold its volume longer and stay cleaner longer.. strange i know :-\

You want your oil to turn black quickly, because that means its cleaning the engine

You want your oil to turn black quickly, because that means its cleaning the engine

i dont think its in there long enough lol.. it gets dumped every 3000ks..

probly.. or im just real fussy with my baby.. lol.. it gets the sump pulled off and cleaned out with the oil change.. motor was rebuilt 2 yrs ago and the dip stick still comes out with nice clean oil on it evertime.. dirty oil dont go threw the oil feed line and lube the bearings as well as clean stuff

I prefer to use fully synthetic oil with turbos, but magnatec is decent enough gloop for the money. I found Edge 5w30 gave a bit more turbo noise so using valvoline 5w40 full synthetic in the GTB now.

Yeah I hear ya that's why there is a oil filter ha.

i concur, edge is a little noisy... im trying a few different oils myself. do some fairly high kms, so hot running.
