Hi all, looking to upgrade the rear diff on my 95 TT SW to an LSD unit.

Do all Legacy TT SW's have the same diff ratio? If not is there a way to tell?

Which LSD units from which Subaru's will fit?

Thanks

If its manual it should be 4.1. The old Rs leggys have LSDs and are also 4.1.

The best way find out what ratio it is, is to match up the gearbox numbers.

Was going to do the same thing but Im running 6 speed stuff now.

It'll have a viscous LSD in it already and the only real upgrade if using factory R160 parts is if you find a plate diff from an RA Impreza. I'm not sure when the swap between male and female inner cv's happened though? But thats not impossible to get around.

Next issue is that an R160 plate diff in a factory RA from the mid-nineties is getting a bit old these days and probably will need a freshen up.

Could always source an aftermarket plate diff $$

AFAIK all the version2 sti got the R160 mech LSD. the only rarity with the RA is the 3.9 ratio.

Just as a wee correction,it seems that not ALL TT wagons had Viscous rear diffs, i have scrapped 3 and 2 had open rear diffs :( they may have been swapped out earlier in their lives but most certianly open diffs

interesting, what revision & grade legacy's?

My old 95 BG diff is open? same with the 94 BD diff in another wagon I have? Both 4.1 ratio.

The gen 1 legacy lsd diffs have a sticker that says 'LSD DIFFERENTAL 4.11' most of the time which makes it easy to determine what it is :P.

Sweet will try that then! lol

Normally on all my other 2wd cars you just get a set of wheels off the ground and see how the spin. Obviously a bit different with a 4wd.

yes I think that works (correct me if im wrong)

With my BG 5 speed diff I can still spin it if someone holds the other side but my V7 STI rear LSD spins both at the same time.

Also, The gen 1 lsd's are friggin cheap compared to everything else, id expect $100 or less (plus installing it)

Nice... pity it's at the wrong end of the country...

Do you need the axles as well? or are the non LSD and LSD ones the same?

Nah axles are the same, you just need the diff.

no i would double check this beforehand, i've found the stubs to be different between open/viscous/mechical

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
