V7 speedo question

Hi all,

Quick question - would a V7 STI speedo fit a standard V7 WRX? I presume they are interchangeable with just connecting the plug at the back?

Also, how does the shift light setup work in these? Would the standard plug i currently have in my car already have the required 'power pin' to work the shift light, or would i need to hook something up regarding this?

Sorry if that sounds a bit confusing.

The shift light is in the cluster So no extra wiring

What size do you reckon the bulbs are?

Currently mine is blue

Just change all the bulbs from the back to whatever color u want really

Is the blue bright though?are they those 360 degree bulbs?,Can you please show me a link from trade me as to what size the bulbs are..T10 etc..So i know what to buy... cheers buddy.

note, Odo reading is stored in the cluster and will read what ever the replacement done

I got the bulbs from TM

Will be getting few more to do my mates cluster

Will post up the link to the bulbs or photo of bulb ok

Umm brightness wise Its abt the same as stock

I used the led bulbs and that seems to run ok

But yea will post up something as a guide soon ya

I changed mine to red and I purchased T5 LEDs from TM.

I followed this tutorial:

That's an awesome tutorial,but why do they talk about sanding stuff?

Isn't it simple enough just to take the speedo cluster out,change the bulbs and then screw it back in..

I am preety sure that's what you did.

You'll need sme proof of K's, documentation as to why etc

think they charge 250 or 300 for doing it

I have never sanded anything and it has been fine

Well I used blue so far and it seems ok with nonsanding

Maybe other colors require sanding but I dunno on that

sweet, guess I can book to get it changed and visit vtnz and get it in writing.
