BL5 Legacy Speaker Sizes

Can you fit 6.5" all round on a JDM BL5?

Getting mixed answers on the rears.

Doubt anyone would know lol, haven't seen many stereo threads here in those cars.

I should have taken pics of the stock cardboard speakers, they have gone to a tiny Neodymium magnet and cardboard surround. Must be cost cutting as they only weigh about 1/4 of the old stock speakers.

They are also rated at a mighty 15W continuous!

But front and rear both appeared to be 6.5"

Also the Legacy I looked at was a standard spec GT sedan, not a McIntosh one or whatever they are now with 13 speakers.

I've been told 16cm front and 13cm rear doors.

I assume 6.5" front and 5.25" rear will fit with spacers.

16cm = 6.5"

13cm = 5.25"

hmmmm....

most speakers are marketed as: 17cm (6.5"), 16cm (6")

17cm is actually 6 3/4", my Pioneer PRS were like that.

That may be true for some brands though, but it's not an industry standard.

Oversize "6.5s" annoy the crap out of me, every time it's a custom job to make them fit. Whereas 6.5's that are actually 6's (or supposed to be 6's) fit damn near anywhere with some creative positioning and enough self-tapping screws

Should be the same as my BP? I just replaced all four speakers with 6.5" Alpine's all round. Components in the front and two-way in the rear.

Huge improvement.
