Timing belt

Howdy

Girl at work is looking at buying a 2001 rsk that has been rebuilt, all work and reciepts confirmed from the mechanic where the work was done. However he said that they didnt do the timing belt cause it hadnt done that many kms on rebuild and will charge $700 to replace.

She can get the car for $6,500 and on the rebuild had bearings, gaskets and seals, primary turbo replaced.

What is she best to do, get it and nana it back to dunedin and get it done locally, if so where is the cheapest place or whats the best idea?

if it's $700 incl water pump, tensioners, idlers etc get them to do it. Thats sharp.
