Help removing center dash piece that contains clock on v7 sti

Hi guys as title says I am needing to take out the dash piece in my car that contains the clock or defi guages if you are lucky enough. But obviously do not want to break any of the clips, does this piece need to be lifted out front first or back first? Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure it should pop out either way first, just don't put too much pressure on it and it should pop up for you! I have a spare clock one if you end up snapping some clips...

They are a pain i spent over an hour trying to get mine out and still broke it probly best to pop the back out first and then work on the front 2. Try take the air vent out and push from the bottem it might work a bit beter other wise 2 screw drivers either side of the clips worked on the other clip after i broke the orher one

Pretty sure I did the back first. There are 6 clips in total, I did pairs at a time with a decent amount of force and no damage occurred.

Use a butter knife with some electrical tape around it for prying

pulled up the back first then had to pull like my life depended on it for the front two to pop out. Thanks for the ideas.
