Wiring Link Ecu into BD4 NA-Anyone have a pinout??

Hey wiring an early link ecu into my 1995 BD4 Manual NA ej25. Haven't had any success with finding a pinout diagram for factory ecu, anbody got any useful info? Cheers

How many plugs it got? Afaik should be the same as a turbo minus few wires for boost solinoid

If it's a 1995 3-plug it's worse than that, you'll have to hunt down correct pinning manually. If it's a 4-plug it should be the same as the single turbos of the era.

It's a 3 plug, which seems to be different to anything else? yea seems to be working out where the wires all go is the only option atm. And doing it because it's high compression and want to see what a non turb suby can do with a decent tune coz the standard motors and tunes are pretty lazy compared to other non turbo brands

Yup, you are going to have to hunt. There are unfortunately two types of 3-plug. That used by the STi and that used by NAs before 1996. The latter shares its pinning with absolutely nothing.

Even with a link ecu and a tsr motor for example they don't go awesomely well. Not too bad but not inspiring tbh. We did it as needed a motor for a type r temporary and had a tsr motor. Good fuel economy though

Na i had it on trademe but had no interest so im just carrying on doing work to it, try and chase the title of most powerful ej25 NA in nz? would like to talk to anyone thats done up a non turb before.

Yea its different to the v3/4 3 plug. other way is to pull loom out of my parts car and strip it down and work out exactly where all the wires go?

How many kw did u get? this motor is 11.?:1 compression with rsb heads tho

Didn't dyno it sorry. Where in nz are you based? A multimeter is all you need. No need to remove loom

In christchurch, yea iv'e got a multi meter, just need to rip into it, thought id give find the pin outs a crack first, otherwise u no anyone up here that would do it for cheap?

My personal impression of Subaru NAs is that they're not too shabby. Okay so maybe I'm a bit biased (Own a 2.0 SOHC Impreza that now has an EZ30R in it) but I look at it this way.

1998 Subaru EJ20E, SOHC: 100kW.

2010 Volkswagen Golf GTi: 122kW.

Nissan VQ30DE: 170kW

Subaru EZ30R: 184kW

(both stock)

One of those is a DOHC turbo

The other thing is, power can only help you so much, in a straight line sure, it's great... but corners are a great leveller.

If you wanna make an EJ25 awsome I say go for it and let's see how it turns out. You could probably benefit from AVCS though.

also you dont need a pinout, just make a new loom with the link loom
