no boost after 5k

hey all

i hav a werid issue with my car (again)

after the miss i use to have i changed bov all vaccum lines boost controler and coils.

this actually slowed my car down considerably like going from 14psi to 10psi ( i say this as in feeling i have no guage to back this up)

anyway it does hold boost but it just wont hold there is just nothing there after 5000revs

iv checked what seems to be everywhere for leaks even putting my old stuff back on i just cant seem to get the power i use to have to come back..

car is a completly stock v7 sti

did you put the boost controller back on? was a boost tap?

Its a stock solinoid.. Both of them

exhaust leak pre turbo will make it feel allot slwoer

i did read this the other day and i am very very curious on what to check.

basically just look for black soot coming out of the flanges - look at the flanges on the head / manifold - also manifold / up pipe and also up pipe / turbo (this can be hard to see)

you can normally hear a exhaust leak - get someone to hold a rag up the tail pipe - this will increase back pressure and make leak louder

are you getting a Check engine light ??? maybe limp mode

No check engine light...i wish there was it would be so helpful

Have you put on a boost gauge to see if it is dropping in boost? And then to see if there's any vac leaks?

just as a check does the check engine light come on when you first turn on the key ( checking for a blown/removed bulb)

Is it a 2 port solenoid? You may be missing the small restrictor in the bleed-off line if you have changed all the vacuum hoses?

Il check that today. And i never changed the line with the restrictir pill i just gave that a clean out with brake fluid cleaner.

Like my explaining might be rubbiah boost will come on nice and feel good but will start to dies off so by 5000rev its just motor noise

make sure solenoid is oerating cos if its stuck close then u will have low boost like that

check for pill turbo hose before t piece

all boost hoses tight?

Thanks pappu but it seems to be duin the same thing on 2 diffrent solinoids both stock.

Im wondering if i did somthing wrong when i sprayed brake disc cleaner down the line to clean it as thats when it the car started feeln like this

i can see if issues the ecu reporting on but sound boost related...

i would get a boost gauge bro, even if you dont leave it in? just keep it for when you need to check things like this

ok super dumb question but in looking for the ristrictor pill i found nothing has anyone got a pic of where it should be all i found is a joiner

turbo nipple --- hose with pill--- T piece and one end of T piece to wastegate and one end to the boost solenoid

If can't find I can check to see if I can find my brothers old one as went to a boost tap on his v7
