Can I run EJ20G manifolds etc on an EJ20K?

Hi guys.... I used the search and found nothing....

I just picked up a donor car with a forged EJ20K

I have a V1 WRX.

I'd like to do a rebuild on the K, and put it in my V1.

Will the V1 / V2 manifolds etc bolt on to the K?

Id like to keep my V1 ECU etc, and do minimal wiring....

Any tips?

depends on which heads you use. You will be able to put the v1 heads back on the 20k motor - get the right head gasket and you're away laughing.

From memory the v1 head has a different manifold pattern to v 3/4

Are the K heads worth the extra work? Or should I just port and polish the G heads?

The ej20k heads are deff the ones to use/spend $$$ on but the question i cant answer is if the tune will be safe on the standard ecu with the ej20k heads.

Im sure there's someone on here that has done it before ,

Yea bolt pattern is definitely the same!! I'm using a v1-2 manifold on top of my v4 block

and ive done the opposite to ^^^

ive personally bolted a ver 3 manifold onto a ver 2 block/ heads

the k heads are def the way to go

EJ20K Block

EJ20K heads

EJ20G intake

TD05

EJ20G sensors

EJ20G ECU - retuned

Would I use the COP or the Wasted Spark?

indeed, can kinda see here. It's all polished and the inlet angle is lower

yes to all of the above as for the cop or wasted you could run either its just some simple wiring

Corrected for ya, Any phase 1 head will accept a version 1 to 4.

that works on late model intakes ...... if you run spacers big enough to clear the alt you will have to never have a bonnet(that closes).

either ac says good bye or use a electronic power steering setup .

or relocate the ac where the battery is ???

not worth trying to keep ac hell yea flip that shit .... unless a/c is important to you

Run coil on plug - specially on Ver 2 ecu - as you can run more dwell timing - and the ecu is set to run cop so dwell timing will be correct - normally u get weak spark using wasted on a early ecu
