What year/ model has the thickest and straightest rear sway bar?

Hi all,

Long story short, my exhaust piping hits the upgraded v5 sti rear sway bar thats installed because it has a kink in it to accommodate the standard set up.

Now, I was wanting to know out of the pre bug eye versions - which rear sway bar has the straightest parts with large clearance and best thickness for it not to contact.

I would consider aftermarket if the price is ok (not ridiculous $250 bucks etc)

The forester one was straight (just bent where it attaches the links).

The v5 sti one I have has the hump for exhaust clearance but it's not in the right place lol (needs to be 10mm or more to the left/ or non existent lol)

don't know answer to ur question sorry but strange that the foz one was different... My foz bar was almost exactly the same as the sti bar I put in except for the obvious diameter change

right... so you want a bigger bend / hoop in it, not a smaller straighter one....

you need to get the bar up and over the exhaust more yes?

Look at a BG legacy one - the hoop on those ones is larger than the GC/GF ones and still mount up the same. They do get quite close the the underside of the spare tire well though.

The bugeye one is also a wider hump from what I can tell - a whiteline gc bar bolted right up to my bugeye so theoretically a bugeye bar will bolt up to a gc/gf chassis too. Might be worth a try

yer from what ive seen they also have a bigger hump as well

Yarr. Il give it a try when one pops up. The reason why I wanted to avoid ones with humps is one side sits lower than the elevated side to compensate for integrity. If it were straight it would just sit over the top and clear.

Time to hunt
