Swapping steering wheels

Trying to swap out my SRS MOMO airbag steering wheel for a normal steering wheel with no airbag. I got a boss kit but its not that straightforward.

I think i may need to get a "Airbag boss kit".

Is there any way to do it without getting one and using the boss kit i have?

Its for a Version 6 STi.

Yeah i know that but you can get it certed and you also can if the car is over 14 years old

to have it certed afaik you need to run an fia approved seat.

nope, fail, if you have airbag wheel and are getting cage you have to have fia seat

if it's a road car you just have to remove ALL airbag items (airbag ecu, sensors, dash light etc)

oh really how hard is to remove all the airbag related items? and you still need to get a cert?

how do the WOF'ers even know that you changed out an airbag? - apart from AIRBAG light.

Airbags can only be permanently removed if:

(a) the vehicle has reached 14 years of age or more; or

(b) a specific motor racing alternative frontal impact protection system is installed and a LVV Authority Card is issued for that vehicle for a specific driver. Currently, these can only be issued by MotorSport New Zealand and always incorporate a roll-cage and full harness seatbelts.

yes it still requires a cert.....according to the police legal tech section in NZ Performance Car

ah ok so the car has to be 14 years old as well as removing all the airbag items like i said above.

your best bet would be to ring\go see a certifier http://www.lvvta.org.nz/contact.html#certifier they will tell you exactly what is right.
