Dash that goes over 180km/h?

My speedo only goes to 180km/h, and can't physically go any further due to odometer reset button being in the way. Anyone know if its possible to replace speedo/instrument cluster with one that goes faster?

yeah should be possible, im not too sure which ones are interchangable though. Ive got a 260km in my 99 rex. Im pretty sure you can get ones that go right up to 300kms

get a nz new dash cluster. it should theoretically go to 260

OK, so I'm looking for a instrument cluster out of a 1997 WRX? Also, would that mean my odometer reading changes? or can I swap over only the speedo?

yeah but you can change that easy.. just flick it around till you get close enough to your odo reading or zero it haha

Just remember that V2 came with a cable driven speedo (not electric) so if you are looking at a straight swap you will need a 260km cable driven speedo.

If you're really that keen on seeing how fast you are going then why don't you just grab one of these?

Probably a lot easier and cheaper than trying to find a 260k speedo and then fitting it.

the pivot speed meter is by far the most tried and tested... failing that a gps of some kind would be fine

Sweet, would the Pivot speed meter still work with a Link G4 ECU? I notice their Pivot tacho etc don't.

yeah no reason why not - my apexi rsm works with my link... u are still taking the speed, rev, etc. off the ecu wiring

i dont think so, pm/ask nt_a_foz, i think he had to sell his coz he was getting a link g4? maybe it was becasue he didnt need it becasue he got a link?

sti sports make a replacement speedo that goes to 280km (i have these in both my cars)

trademe will be the best place to find these- as new ones are pricey due to exchange rate

im sure the pivot meter instructions say dont work with a aftermarket ecu

BUT i dont see why not as all it takes is a reading of the sepped wire so in theory should work.

there prolly protecting there ass when they say it dont work? your speedo wont go over 180(which it cant anyway by the sounds of it) but the pivot will keep reading, id say go for one of those, there pretty resaleable if it doesnt work out

i thought 260 speedo only came out in 98 and New Zealand new only all were all electric?

as far as i no the old v3 and earlier are the cable ones and the newer v4 onwards are electric so without a huge amount of work arnt compatible
