Best spark plugs for a 2000 Legacy B4 RSK

i was thinking about changing the sparks myself as the mechanic i went to was going to charge a small fortune. just wondering what the best plugs are for this model, i've heard the iridium ngk ones are the best but don't know which one to go for.

is there anything else that needs to be done to the engine when replacing them or is it just a matter of getting the old ones out and putting the new ones in?

cheers

andy

tried that earlier but it must be linked to the auzzie site as it only shows the liberty gt and wasn't 100% sure it would be the same.

just found something on the uk site as all the rest only showed the 2.5l engine available, can anyone confirm that the part: BKR6E-11 is correct. i'd go for the iridium but need to be sure of the orig part first

It's a 1-2 hour job absolute tops

Remove airbox

Remove Battery

Remove washer bottle

undo 4 coils

remove 4 spark plugs

repeat in reverse ;D

Iridium will not give you any more power but it will last a lot longer before needing replacement - it's like those eco-bulbs for the house, cost 4 times as much, last 4 times as long

Be prepared for a long wait for plugs from 41... I

Yeah true. The plugs I got were retailing here for almost $30 a pop at Supercheap/Repco. Got them through 41 for $17 a pop. The wait was worth it.

That was last year though so they might not be so expensive now.

If I remember right the -11 at the end of the plug code refers to a 1.1mm gap in the plug

There's normally a .7 or .8mm ish alternative of some sort for turbo models off the shelf.

Or you can just regap them yourself with a feeler gauge, if you've got one. I've always been told it's not advised for iridiums as well (more risk of damaging the point of the electrode I think?) . It's literally just bending the tip of the plug (the bendy over bit) a bit closer to the point of the electrode.

Just buy copper ones, seriously the iridium is a waste of cash especially once you find how simple a plug change is

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
