big end bearing stuffed - what to do with car

So yesterday my 97 GTB decided to pack up. I was going to put on trade me today as I\'m leaving the country in a month.

Interiors and exterior is mint. ts completely stock but limited edition so has all the stock body kits, fog lights, twin sun roofs, momo stering wheel etc except for a hks turbo timer, stero, sub and strut brace.

insurance wont cover it, I\'ve been quoted just over 2k for new eninge plus labour (believe the new engine is only 490 + gst). I\'ve contacted a couple of wreckers but they\'ve offer 380 (for that price I\'d take off the wheels, remove all the non-stock parts lol)

If i was hanging around I\'d have loved to turn it into a project car but with my knowledge (or lack of it) theres no way I could drop another engine into it quickly.

Any ideas what I can do with it?

If it was me id single turbo it, if I was in your place id chuck it on trade me...

& not sure where your getting an engine for $490... must be $1490?

Must\'ve heard the mechanic wrong. Pretty sure he just called part master but don\'t hold me to that. either way total was just over 2k

Partmaster dont sell engines...they do sell heads.

I could have been keen but I\'ve just finished a project car and dont really feel like doing another - if I were you m8 I would $1 reserve it - you could be surprised!

$1200 will get ya a new engine from partsworld. chuck it in way ya go. You only need a shortblock.
