How easy is it fitting 4pots and 2 pots from a WRX to a 2001 GTB? - do they bolt straight on?

Apparently they\'re a straight swap, I\'ve asked this question before and that\'s what I was told by numerous people on here. I\'d do it to our Blitzen but I\'m not sure how long we\'re gonna have it for.

2pots - you\'ll need some adaptorts, i.e from kartboy

Cheers - Where would I get Kartboy adapters from - and what sort of rotors would I need?

From the US, they\'re bloody expensive, pretty much the same price as you\'d pay for a set of 2pots.

yea i\'ve been to give it a go too, currently only have stock single pot front and back so well due for an upgrade.

a couple of things i\'d been wondering were whether LVV certification is needed for something like that, they mention needing it if getting larger rotors but nothing about beefier calipers.

and with regards to ABS and stopping force front and rear ratio, would any changes need to be made there or will it just work it out on its own?

Yea I ask the same question too - I do own two GTB Legacys and one I bought - (which is now for sale) has 4 pots on the front and I noticed on the cert plate it does mention the brakes being different but do you still have to certify it if you change your brakes?

if they are a factory bolt on you dont, but if you have to use adaptors then they need a cert.

when you get a cert they list everything including stuff that doesnt need certing. i.e my cert plate has bigger sway bars listed

Yep direct bolt on for the fronts brakes. 2 hour job max.. Helps if you have a second person to help bleed the brakes afterwards.

For normal street use they dont offer any better braking, the only thing they will break is your wallet when you need to replace the pads.

Really? Dont think so. If you go for budget brakes you will buy budget brakes. Go to your local supercheap and price up DB1342 and DB1170 pads the latter being 4 pot and I think DB1379 is single pot rear not sure on 2 pot rear. All the same price normally man. IF you gor for bendix or better same applies just you cant buy as gooder pads at the top end for 2/1 pot set ups.

If you are going to put on 4 pots, then go buy crap pads from supercheap, they will be no better than standard 2 pots with oem pads.

OK, so when I first got my 99 wrx (4pot fronts), it had elcheapo pads as my mates 2006 legacy with 2pots and oem pads could stop 2 mtrs shorter.No mistako sorryo
