Using a bluetooth OBD Scan tool on a 2000 Legacy??

I bought a cheap OBD2 scan tool off eBay and I have the Torque android app but Torque doesn\'t seem to be able to connect to the ECU of my 2000 Legacy B4. Anyone know why that might be or if it is even possible on my car??

I found it on TM a while back but gave up on the idea till I can find one I can try before buying - the guy reckoned 98 B4 no go, but 99 ok - work that out

They have the OBD2 port; but use a half Subaru select management thing half obd2 i think.: I have a feeling mine may work with the obd2: now it\'s ST (different ECU, means different connectivity ???)

I read somewhere that the RevD was obd2 compliant but don\'t know if that\'s true or not

as far as I know Rev D is OBDII compliant, it runs very similar stuff to the V7.

1998 V5- wrx and sf5 forester (phase 2 v5/6 engine) 2000- are obdII.

Ok, has anyone tried using this little thingy + Torque App in their Legacy BH5D (long shot I know.. :-\)

To be honest, the v5/6 ecu\'s can be datalogged using the tactrix system, and rev-d\'s can be reflashed off the batt, no mucking around trying to find something that \'might\' work... Just MHO, do it once do it right....

I brought one off that guy, for my 2000 bh5. Works mint, can drive with my laptop hooked up and view all sensors/water temps/wastegate pressures, can adjust idle/timing etc

I got one off TM for $60 odd.

Seller said it would work on my car then mysteriously stopped replying when I said it didn\'t.

Works fine on my friends v7 but not on the BE5

is yours revd be5 though? Theoretically the obd2 port should work fine with them.

On mine it can see the ECU but can\'t read any data from it. Tried numerous software on it.

If anyone gets one of those cables i\'d be really keen to know if it works and if it supports SSM.

Hi there. Yea unfortunately your car is not obd2 compliant so the Bluetooth tool was never going to work. Most sellers are just after the buck but don\'t know their product. This tool will be your best choice for a 99 Subaru. And sure if it doesn\'t work you can send it back for a refund. Cheers 8:01 am, Fri 8 Mar

I have the traxix cable thing at home never used it other than on my legacy to try and clear codes and play with romraider

I just had mine arrive from the stahlcar website yesterday ($65 inc postage) and the same as this one http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/tools-repair-kits/meters-testers/auction-568814139.htm. Seems to work fine on my BE5 (which is a 2000 so def not a rev D). Only issue I\'ve had is the software crashing when it lost it\'s connection to the ECU (not sure why). Still managed to read an old error code (and clear it), I can look at loads of different readings and I\'m sure I could have changed a few engine management setting but didn\'t want to mess with stuff I don\'t know about just yet.

System tests didn\'t seem to be available for my car.

Mine has just arrived, Just making a ISO of the CD as I ain\'t gonna get that back out of a laptop drive in a hurry.

Works good on mine.

Adjustments that can be made are idle rpm AC on / off and some timing adjustments which I\'m not going to play with.

My knock sensor didn\'t read anything which I\'m not sure is a good thing or a bad thing.

If anyone else has a similar car can they advise if their has a reading ?
