Loosing water in header tank

Loosing water in header tank overflow filling up aswell mayb system not bleed properly no overheating occuring

If you run the engine without the cap on the header tank, do you get a lot of bubbles constantly coming out? Could be head gasket.

It doent go bone dry but my overflow gets quite full temperature gauge has nevet gone past halfway. Ive sat and ran the engine with cap off and seen nothing out of ordinary. No buubbles

have u done the radiator lately? is it slugy looking in the over flow?

What u mean sluggy?got new cap and re bleed the system with heaters on full and couple pockets of air came out hoping that fixes issue

are you saying the overflow bottle goes up and the engine level goes down?

if so you have an air leak in your system. as the car cools it should bring coolant back into the engine from the overflow

yup overflow fills up leaving header tank witg less water

seems that ive either bleed the system properly or the radiator cap was shot no longer getting a loss of water from header tank and overflow not overflowing lol! yay not a head gasket!! lol

The pipe between header and overflow tank has a hole in it or is partially blocked. Or the header tank cap is old and not sealing correctly.

Pin hole in the rubber pipe is the usual reason

Couldnt be pipes theyre all brand new samco sport

do a pressure check on that refill/overflow hose/pipe. leak is there somewhere. ??? 2-3 psi will do it. sucking air back into system somewhere. This is the only area it can. all others system pipework is under operating pressure of around 0.9 to 1.1 bar and you will see a leak somewhere.......this kind of leak will usually drain the reserve tank not cause it to overfill.

everything seems to be all good again now after changing radiator cap and rebleeding system toopk for a good drive and no loss of water from header tank or any extra going into oveflow yay

If you have a leaking radiator cap then instead of pressurising the system it will just pump it all out the overflow. Pretty simple really.

Yes.. ;D A stuffed cap will do it too. Two seals in the rad cap. Both must be in good condition.
