My bh5 gtb won\'t select 1st... All other gears are fine but no matter how hard you push in the shifter it won\'t select 1st! Any idea why this is happening?

Syncro\'s jamming up inside the Box. Try getting first while rolling forward, might help it go in?

Edit: Also make sure the Bushes at the Base of the Gear Stick aren\'t warn out, might be too sloppy?

Tried doing the whole rolling thing. Still no love. It doesn\'t feel sloppy or anything. Will have a lol at shifter tomorrow.

what about when the engine is off?

..no matter how hard you push..

with gearboxes, no certainly does not mean harder. you can bend selector forks if you\'re too rough

Na, tried with engine off. Doesn\'t want to select it at all.

Check ratios before you put the wrx box in as might need to swap diff also.

v4 STi going into my 1998 bh5 gtb...?

The sti box is likely 4.444 no idea on the BH box might pay to get the code off it and double check tho.

what condition is the clutch in? how is selecting reverse?

Selecting every other gear perfectly. Just not 1st. Maybe selector fork. How would I check that? Pull off shifter boot and have a look there?

Clutch is mint

1st and reverse getting tuff to select are "my" symptoms of worn clutch

only been thru two in the GTB (10+ years owning) so that\'s the limit of my input soz

ended up selecting 2nd then 1st (whilst stationary) made the job easier

unless you\'re having a hard time while selecting 1st while moving? [not recommended, 1st has no syncro\'s]

sorry Jared, irrelevant due to:

Na, tried with engine off. Doesn\'t want to select it at all.

doubt its the linkage but could be bent selector fork or damaged syncro

also,

Clutch is fine, if that was shagged there would be no way I can start in 2nd which I had to do today

Reverse is fine

2nd,3rd,4th,5th all fine

Tried 2nd then to 1st, no luck

Was absolutely fine yesterday, driving fine, selecting all gears with no trouble. Stop at a set of lights. Wouldn\'t pick up 1st, hasn\'t since.

Should be straight. That would stop the Select Lever Going right Forwards for 1st Gear.

Hopefully that\'s all it is...But could be the result of trying to force it.

Edit:

Ok... I wasn\'t forcing the shit out of it. Just reasonable pressure to see if it would engage. Are they a replaceable part or do they come as a unit per your pic?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
