subaru plenum adaptors

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Does anyone know where I can get the adaptors for subaru plenums that go from the phase 1 inline bolt pattern to the phase 2 offset bolt pattern? Hopefully closest to Tauranga, NZ? I would upload a photo of what they look like but Im not sure how to upload it on here?

Cheers.

Wiks

never seen anything of the such . generally you just have to match heads and plenum

they would have to be about half an inch thick and generally not worth the effort

u could make some with some 10 mm plate and some counter sunk bolts . assuming no itereference

cant upload to cs . upload to photo bucket or fb and link it

I have just been through this dilemma myself. There is actually a bit more work to it than just bolting the adapters on and then bolting your P1 manifold to them. The main hassle is that the ports for the P2 heads are actually further apart than P1, so in order for it to work correctly the manifold needs to be extended by around 12mm in the centre so that the runners will meet up to the adapters (it is for this reason, a place in the UK that use to offer these adapters no longer makes them to suit P1 manifold to P2 heads).

I flagged it and just used the correct manifold in the end (albeit I did have to remake other bits to suit the new manifold but it was the easier/cheaper option).

Heres the link to Car Davey who used to make them: http://www.carldavey.co.uk/product.php?id=16

There is a pic on there showing how the manifold is extended.

Do you want to fit a phase 2 manifold, into your phase 1 car? (version 7 sti manifold, into a version 3)

Or fit a phase 2 block/heads, into your phase 1 car? (version 7 sti long block, into a version 3)

Those TGV spacers would only work for option A, but you would have to make your own TGV spacers up, that angle in about 6.5mm both sides, with the phase 1 bolt pattern at the bottom. But then you\'ve got the sensor/loom/ecu issues.

For option B you\'ll have to extend your original manifold 12-14mm, with some phase 2 Carl Davey adaptor plates.

The phase 2 manifold/engine, distance between intake ports is about 483mm bank to bank.

So a phase 1 manifold/engine will have about 470mm between left bank and right bank head intake ports.

What car have you got? In what state? What do you want to fit?

why do you want a phase 2 intake mani.

the v1/2 intakes flow great

I was looking at using adapters also but then for the same reasons as tony ive stuck with a early intake and will change it as I need.

there are flow specs on the net somwhere and the early v1/2 flows just as good as the expensive aftermarket units

I think he wants to use phase 2 heads in v1-v4.

Carl did adapters billet ones very expensive though

You have to cut up the manifold anyway lol. With all that bothering around it would be easier to mod a v5/v6 intake to suit the early setup so you dont have to chop it or if you can\'t find that mani a be bh one should be easy to find ;)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
