v7 stationary rev cut

Is it true that the v7 (sti) has a factory safety setting so that when you are stationary and you clutch in and put your foot to the gas it only limits at 5k. -on behalf of a mate who just bought one. Would this just be launch control or is it just a factory setting.

Not factory, sounds like launch control. If he has a boost gauge see if it is reading positive when hitting the cut.

Ohk cheers has been wired for a gauge but did no come with. Iwill get my boost controller and gauge this week.

Can you adjust this launch control rev limit at all?

someone who can reflash the ecu etc will may be able to set it to something different . not switch or buttons job tho

assuming it\'s not an ecutek jobbie, then yeah they should be able to adjust it if they have the right files loaded into their computer.

easy enough to do, but requires another reflash. i\'ve found about 5-5.5k is the sweet spot in terms of getting off the mark, anything lower it bogs horribly, any higher and it just wheelspins

5.5k is the Subaru recommended revs. works every time.

Yea it\'s a modified ecu and can change mostly

Yea 5.5k seems to be a good compromise and then also a matter if setting tire pressures for optimal launches

Just for clarity LC is only available from Ecutek via Racerom which is restricted to MY06> DBW Subaru ECUs

Yep I believe that racerom was brought out in response to the developments in the OS community such as speed density, launch control, flat foot shifting etc
