3.0R vibration - acceleration

hey guys,

just new here and thought the site may be a place to ask some advice.

I have a 2005 Legacy 3.0R - goes well but one problem:

When accelerating hard (lets say putting the foot flat when travelling at 80kmh to accelerate onwards) there is a vibration/shaking that happens. It only happens under hard acceleration, light-moderate is fine.

There are no odd noises (bangs, crunches etc) or other issues at any time (cruising, braking, coasting etc.) transmission was flushed approx 20000kms ago.

Any ideas before I head to a mechanic to investigate further?

Does it still pull hard or is it lacking in power?

I'd be somewhat inclined to say it's a miss... how old are the plugs?

No, goes fine - no missing, shuddering that I can detect. Plugs done when the trans was flushed (20k ago)

Cv worn maybe?

Where specifically is the shuddering occurring? Can you feel it through the steering wheel or is the whole car shaking?

Warped Discs can do that any feel through your pedal or any vibrations?

Also a loose drive shaft would make the whole car shake! Or a wheel outta balance can do it to!

but whatever it is, its to do with something rotating so investigate around your wheels etc

not yet - but will spend some time doing an elimination as suggested - will begin with a wheel balance and check of the CV's

My legacy will vibrate if at low rpm and in too high a gear; say fifth at 50ks put your foot down to accelerate and it'll shake til about 60-70 above that speed it doesn't shake.

Yeah I know; just saying maybe the EAT (Assuming Auto as said transmission was flushed) isn't changing at the right time?

so it is in the wrong gear for rev selection?

Maybe the wrong dextron oil was used for the flush?

Definitely sounds like cv's mine did it when the boot tore and lost all its grease. But in saying that it's pretty unlikely all cv's would be worn so you would get a feeling of where it's coming from. Same with wheel balance being off. If it's an all around vibration that occurs only at high speeds with high load wouldn't you say it's more engine/ drivetrain related. All the other things would have an almost noticeable are where it's coming from. Best way to check whether a manual is slipping is at high speed with high load, what you're basically doing. so couldn't it be one of the magical pieces inside the auto box isn't keeping up under load causing this. Clutch pack? Know nothing about auto's btw
