Car Cleaning - Tar Removal - AMAZING RESULTS!

Yesterday (Saturday 12 September 2015) I headed up to Fielding, to Manfield Race track for FlatNats,

While there i saw the guys from Auto Clique, with a table full of car cleaning and care products, one of which was tar remover.

I have tried a similar product before made by Turtle wax, and although somewhat effective, i was rather under whelmed.

So i talked tot he guys about this product with a rather critical view, but given i was feeling a little flush, i bought it anyway, ho-hum price of $30.00NZD

This is what my car looked like before...

an average 2002 Subaru Legacy GT30, non turbo, 3 Litre, 6 cylinder wagon.

it can be cleaned and made to look like a semi-pretty street car, but given the scuffs on the paint on 3 out of the 4 corners from the previous owner, and the fact that its over 10 years old and much of that time has been spent carrying kids to and from school, its not in perfect condition.

if you look closely you'll see many imperfections, and what i thought were stone chips..

this is after I had already tried the Turtle wax bug and tar remover by the way.

So this Tar remover i got from the Auto Clique guys, I'm told is similar to "orange cleaner" and yes it certainly has a strong citrus smell to it.

I was told to spray all over the car, and leave to "work its magic" for around 5 minutes...

then wipe with a clean towel or rag... and the results are amazing!

the tar remover from Auto Clique took off all the tar, and what i thought were stone chips, and more!

I ended up having to use to on the whole car as the parts i used it on initially made the rest of the car look dirty.

So in conclusion... and remember i actually paid for this product, I wasn't given it for to rant and rave about it...

this stuff...

11951628_10153288455963495_7549999769348503008_o.jpg

is a complete waste of time!

this stuff however...

11741205_10153288456053495_1766719946722130543_o.jpg

should be in every car guys shed, and used on every car you buy as a first port of call.

So in summing up, the product is amazing, and I will be going back to the Auto Clique team for further products and time, and money allow.

this is what the car looks like now, and I'm very impressed with it.

its still not perfect, with a few bits of paint missing, but its far better than it was, and really what do you need from a wagon that is mainly used to cart dirt bikes around the country side?

Wow, advertorial much? Full disclosure Ray?

chill children, 'sall good in the hood

whilst I agree you comment, as long as this forum is on this software & we have no current PAYING sponsors, also note we never have or had anyone actually pay for any advertising as long as I have been on the committee

either way, it appears to be a good product & highly rated by a member, take that how you wish

& this thread is officially approved by ClubCapitan Jared

ps they were well behind Flat Nats & we love them simply for that aspect alone at the moment

Here is a $13 option + you get way more

Yep...good old WD40, safe for your paint and dissolves tar like mofo !! (also good on adhesives..like old window tint film, or sticker residue)

I find if you add a little fine cut compound to the wipe rag it also helps.

Dont forget to wax the surface after .

Just looked into it, it's basically just white spirits up to 80% with an additional alcohol solution mixed in, Plus a additive for the smell.

think I will just make my own up and go with that.

Ive used that as well, white spirits..no wonder it works well, I though it mainly citrus extract.

Will stick with the WD40 for now..although I wax my cars so often tar doesnt get a chance to stick.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
