New speakers for the rear parcel shelf (I know nothing)

I have to replace the speakers in the rear parcel shelf of the RA, not looking for anything hugely expensive or to win competitions, but would like a nice sound.

Ive got clarion somethings in the front (i only know this as theres tweeters on the doors)

I recently got a Panasonic CQ-rx322w head unit for fathers day, so would like something just to bolt straight in to the rear shelf if possible.

There are mitsi factory crappers in there at the mo, but they dont fit properly (Just sitting there) and I cant get a warrant with them in.

Any help is much appreciated.

Yip that would be good. Id put up with the ones ive got but they dont fit in the holes.

Loose object in the rear of cabin...

I was in an accident in a mates car years ago and one of his 6x9's ended going through the windscreen.....

DO NOT CUT THE STEEL IN THE REAR PARCEL SHELF!!!

It is considered structural and will be a WOF fail.

Testers are getting hard on it now.

Temporary Fix. And get good front speakers so you don't need rear ones

Going to do that this time, but im after a more permanent fix and ideas for a chrissie present.

Bite the bullet and get some Kicker 6x9's from JB Hifi Sweet bass and good overall sound. Around $150-200 NEW.

Kicker is a really good brand, rumor has it there "8 or "10 square subs were band from competitions because they were raping the competitors.

Sounds about right! The entry-level round subs are mean, I had twin 10" Kickers that went absolute nuts, sit in the back seat and you vibrated

They dont fit flush in the hole, so not really what im after.

you can get 1" thick spacers.......

Will that make them fit? I thought they would go nowhere near fitting. Im sort of after the original look with good sound if I can find it.

you can get carpeted spacers that dont like that out of place.

they should do, just go to a sounds place ask to test fit one, tho it will make the speaker sit up highher so it might hit the rear window.

when i bought my car i found it had wee nicks taken out of the shelf for the previous owners speakers, wof people note it, but dont usually fail on it as theyre only small nicks and taken out of the inside of the shelf, but done pretty rangi so very noticable.

I ended up with Blaupunkt (sp???) 6X9's up there, they fit well, (although you do need to make the holes in the wooden part of the shelf slightly wider), but they look very "factory" to the untrained eye, and sound GREAT.

sorry, wouldnt know model number or price, they were sitting my shed for around 5 years, I origionally bought them for my first car, and never put them in., would be interested in selling them to you tho if you're keen, and coulnd include the shelf so they all fit snugly. since the last trackday i havent used them, (removed in a vain attempt at weight saving ;D )
