if they are v7 sti brakes they will be brembos so you will need new wheels and discs

if its STI.. from the desription thus far it looks like hailz refers to just V7 wrx 4 pots.. which if the case your comments dont apply.

May pay to re read the description lol. Gotasuby got it sorted.

true true ;D sorry i got hooked on seeing "4pots" which to me means old 4pots and what a v7 WRX wud have.. so my mistake..

V7 brembos are different in terms of caliper pad and disc and require much more dish shaped rims.

so yer, are they "4pots" or are they "brembos".. *im aware BBs are 4pot.. <-- that removes confusion

I did just mean the Subaru badged four pots the red ones (not the Brembos), sorry guys should have been more clear, will I still need a wheel spacer or new wheels?

yuo the BD/BG GTB rims dont clear STI 4pots. its what my wrx had when i bought it and turned out they had put spacers in but still only just just cleared them.. You run in to trouble with haivng enough thread to attach nuts to..

Best bet is aftermarket rims or get some of the newer 5 (split) spoke gtb rims or the rev D (solid 5 spoke) ones.. they all clear four pots with out spaces

Thanks for all the help fellas, I think if I have to buy new rims I might just try and get the most out of my factory set up (slotted disc's and softer pads) I'm quite attached to my factory rims lol, has anyone noticed any improvements by fitting slotted disc's? And what about braided lines?

braided lines would be the best upgrade for the money spent. you should probably find the limits of your original brakes before spending more money on sometimes unnessasary brakes/wheels etc.

Ok so does anyone done any upgrades that worked really well without throwing money away? I thought perhaps just slotted disc's and a good pad - maybe Bendix ultimates or am I wasting money on slotted disc's on a car that gets driven like your Nana drives during the week but gets a good bit of caning around the hills in the weekends? I notice they get a bit soft after a while and you've really gotta put your boot into it to get some good braking - have done fluid flush etc.

Subaru 4 pots, good brake fluid, good brake pads, master cylinder brace and braided brake lines. Will keep you going well beyond what you "should" be doing on the street.

Going to steer clear of the 4 pots as I dont want to change wheels at all, but sounds good!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
