Price Check On A BC?

What would you be prepared to pay for a Auto BC Legacy GT, potentially has a broken HG.

Body is pretty mint though, and its white.

had $3990 on the window card, the guy told me to make an offer...

was thinking of puting a 2.2 or 2.5 in it and using it as a tow car...

or stripping it and using that to thrash and save the Ra for good...

Auto BC GT? With Engine problems? $500-1000 depending on quality.

If it was in mint running condition, even $3990 is pushing it. I'd put it in the $1000-3000 bracket for a GT. A really nice example could fetch 4K though.

And EJ20G's are cheeeeap, you do not want to know how much we can get them fore up here. Doing a different engine swap would be fairly pointless given that fact.

yea round $1000 if it has head gasket issues, i got my auto 92 gt legacy for $800 with suspected head gasket problem (turned out it wasnt HG) and that one was really, really mint.

I got a bc5 very tidy with possum link, yellows, td04l, full ehxuast, wastegate,rims, lowered, v7 sti interior and a few other bits but it wasnt running.

AND

A gt with a running motor for around 2k

and then made one...

$3990; it would have to be stock, in excellent working order and full leather trim to be going at that price.

It's worth about $1000 as previously stated with a woeful engine.

Have seen them go for as much as $6k in recent years, but BOY were they mint.

The average going rate for a moderate BC on the forums here is between $1k and $2k, but the really extrordinary examples are worth far more so long as they haven't been riced to buggery.

Also: be careful of rust. I've bought two good ones and one lemon; the first wagon I bought died of car cancer, but the one I replaced it with and the sedan waiting for its transplant are both fine (aside from a fist-sized rust hole on the sedan; since replaced the door.)

thanks guys, yeah the body is really good, its auto but thinking if i do buy it ill strip it, manual-ise it and then think about a cage...

ill hit him up tomorrow about it, offer him a grand.

where is the most common place to find rust in these cars?

Nothing wrong with white, was just saying...

not sure if it was just the light but it seems slightly off white... and I just found out its accually a GT not an RS, although i thought GTs were only wagons, but i now stand corrected...

the way i see it is if the HG is buggered then its not a massive job to get it running then i start "tinkering"

only places i have found rust on any legacies, has been in the boot area up near the hinges...and never really bad...

myo ne looked like it had it around the top of the rear window and had been repaired..and the top of the boot

Flag that idea, and yes its an indoor caryard, it will be there for many years to come too. hes asking for 2.5K as is, no wof, no reg, unhealthy engine.

That mistake cost me just over $1100 at the end of it. How much will this cost you before you even turn a spanner?

My GT might come close to 2.5K AFTER repairs/modifications.
