  2. I like how @whitebait19 and @A_J_T cars look like different generations of the exact same car since they are both two tone.

  6. Since this post got resurrected :D. I have an HKS SSQV BOV in my car atm and mine does make that STUTUTUTU noise at partial throttle below 3800RPM. Not a Nissan type which goes on for longer but sounds similarly the same but at a shorter rate and full boost is the usual PSHHHHH Not sure why you'd want a compressor surge either; it's not good for your turbo so I've heard.

  10. The thing to you need to consider is buying off murch is he will spec whats required for the build. If you listen it pays off. If you dont the results less than desirable. Unfortunately that also costs money most dont have. Take daynoms 2jz for example. Murch specced the build including header and it made more power than anyone here could dream of with insane response. I highly doubt a gtx3576 will make your 450wkw.

  11. I don't have dyno sheets sorry, its on a classic Subaru, its not stock, I believe forged internals. only running at 13 psi at the moment which gives 270 kw. I bought the car with this setup I didn't build it. old owner claims it made 300+ wkw at 22psi. Id imagine its hard to see what would happen unless you have an exact same setup as someone else. if I replace this turbo I will be selling it, it has hpc coated hot side too, so no need for turbo blanket. Interesting you rate Garrett higher, everyone seems to rave about Holset. I do want the local support for it but ive been happy with current turbo if Garrett do flow better I may just go 3576 then. MSE turbos are not exactly easy to get hold of. I'm looking to make 450wkw, why, I don't know, why not, but i'm going to have a few boost settings and 90% of the time it will be below 300wkw setting. I just want the option there if I need it. Build it once build it right mentality. I'm presently building a new motor all components are rated to 1000hp, I intend to enter gtnz series where power above 400wkw is the norm.

  12. Duly noted with the above responses. Since it's pretty much been on Motul oil changes for a year. No point switching as I haven't in my knowledge experienced any leakage or burning. So went down to my local store which stocked them and got their 5L option along with some genuine oil filter. I bought the best-ish fitment Turbo beanie I could find close to where I was at. It covers pretty much the turbo exhaust housing but seems kinda big but still clears the IWG arm. I'll probably shoot over to Scarles to see if I can get a better fitment. I hope Redline Performance can refund if so Seems like guys in US run these flat beanies instead of the Full wrap look beanies on this particular turbo.

  14. sorry this isn't on topic but what car are you running the gtx3071r on , what engine (and is it stock?) , how much boost pressure, what's the boost curve and power output like (happen to have dyno sheets)? just been pretty curious about this one for a while but skewed results all over online forums

  15. Thanks guys. Can someone please point me in the direction of a good DIY to get started on this stuff? I've done similar on BMWs and VWs but not Subbies yet. I've got a couple or different types of VAG OBD2 cables and am pretty handy on the PC...if not so much on doing an effective search on the subject! Thanks

  16. I have an WRX SA (STI) too except my code is GF8B5BD, MJ. I'm not sure what the SA is all about but could be linked somehow to later versions known as 'RA'. Only the sedans were known as 'Version 1' for the MY94 year, so I'm pretty sure we can claim Version 1 unofficially. Tommy Kaira made kits for the early WRXs, as they did for Foresters. They were factory options. I'm guessing a complete and good condition Tommy Kaira kit could go for average $$$, as a lot of WRX owners don't like that kind of stuff, plus it is very 90s.

  17. Every company has its different formulas and ingredients. Especially when it comes to synthetics. So changing may be adverse to the motors longevity. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

  21. Sold my Subaru good buy sweet legacy 3.0r prince, how i will miss your lovely engine note. Untill I replace it with a wago in a few months that is. I also replaced the suspension in my suby turbo'd mx5 with adjustable coilovers, sits much better now and should handle significantly better than the stock bilsteins. Keen to get it back on track Stock rear, new front
