not true on a factory setup the air intake has the breather from crankcase and tappet covers plumbed into it so there is that moisture/oil residue/gases in the compressed air which would be released to atmosphere via a vented bov instead of being burnt of and recirculated by a plumb back bov

this does not happen if you run a catch can for all your breathers to collect the moisture into of course, i guess these will be illegal here soon to like they are in ozzy along with vented bov and pod filters!!!

IMO unless you have an aftermarket computer running a MAP sensor, venting your BOV to atmos is just silly and you should probably look at why you want it like that. (I know I have probably just offended half the club sub membership)

The idea of the amendment was to stop boyracers making "look at me" modifications to their cars that inevitably annoy the sh!t out of everyone else. And I agree with that.

If you have a BOV for pure performance reasons then a recirculated one won't worry you as it still meets the performance objective. (In most cases better as you don't vent metered air)

If you must have one for the wank factor, then put an aftermarket intake on your car, with a pod filter or similar and dump the BOV back into the intake directly behind the filter. You'll meet the regulations and still get the skanks looking at car.
